it's funny, they say 25 or 27, but realistically it slowly lowers every couple of years. it does get more drastic about that age though.

right, oh and another thing to ponder because i cant get an answer as to why from anyone: my insurance is cheaper on the Z than my old slow RSX... go figure?!?! its probably due to the theft rate and total loss rate, both are VERY high for the rsx. hopefully the Z wont end up that way. i dont think so because a different kind of person buys a Z than the person who buys an rsx.

Just paid $279 for 6 months. Was paying $379 for 6 months on my 2005 H2 SUT. I have a clean driving record, but I can see the possibility of speeding tickets.

You all have it lucky. I drive a sedan, have a clean record, get a discount for only driving 6 months out of the year, and pay a slight bit over $300 a month.
Granted, I am 17 years old, and the majority of my money goes to insurance (I am only able to work during summers). I just want to turn 25... (for insurance's sake) Last edited by speedoflife; 11-08-2009 at 12:53 AM. |

Marital Status: Married Location: Valley Grande, AL Other Vehicles: 03 Jag X Type 2.5 and 02 Chevy Suburban LT 4X4 Other Drivers: Wife (same age) Accidents/Tickets: Both of us have clean records. No violations of any type since driving. Our coverage limits are 50/100/50. Our deductible is $500. We pay $725 for 6 months which is equivalent to $120.83 p/mo for 3 cars FULL Coverage. The insurance company is Progressive. The Z alone for 6 months is $372 which is $62 p/mo full coverage. I would say those are AWESOME rates!

the rsx has 4 airbags actually (front and side in the seat) and you would think a v6 sports car would cost more than it does, but yeah your probably right about the tcs and vdc, i didnt think about that!

Insurance companies have a literal war, one trying to capture the others' clients. It all boils down to how well you can negotiate, how flexible the agent is, etc.

I'm 22 and I've had one major accident (not my fault).
State Farm wants ~$180/month to insure a Z which is significantly higher than what I'm paying now for my current two-door car. |

My insurance guy just quoted me about $100/month for 2 cars - my existing chevy pickup and the Z I want to buy. That's for 50/100 with a 1000 deductable. The new Z was less than twice what my 1993 Chevy pickup is with over 145K miles. ...but I'm late 40s with a very good record and have listed the Z as not commuting with it to work.
