How are you calculating a 53% residual? I used the MSRP you listed of $35,000 and change multiplied by 58% gave me the $20,500 figure. 53% is absolutely awful if that is the actual residual after three years. I guess your higher tax rate does make up for a good portion of it though. O'well I will have to check it out for myself once the dealers in Orlando actually have a car in stock.

navcom46 01-15-2009 12:33 PM

The 53% figure was actually given to me by a Nissan sales manager, because I asked him a direct question, but when I looked at the leasing papers, it just does not make sense! so what I think is going on, is, they joggle the residual value v/s money factor to drop the monthly payment to make a sale! since their original lease offer (with the same MSRP) was $639, and I said that it was too high! so they dropped it to $604.
I hope that makes sense!

Nissan leased me a 08 Altima MSRP $20,878 24 months $200 + 17 tax ( ends 2/1/2010 )

Using that (HA HA) the 370Z at $41,756 24 months Sould be $400 +34 tax
434X 24 = $10,416 (get new Z every 24 months) Thats $5,208 per year

If you can get a 2009 370z for $5208/year for two years, I salute you!! I have my doubts about that, but good luck anyway!!!

Zlips 01-16-2009 01:40 PM

You can't compare the two different cars, altima to Z, because the manufacturers run special incentives if they need to move a car. They know the Z is new and in higher demand so they just jack the money factor up in order to make more money off the car.

Can somebody please edit the title of this thread, it makes me a little angry inside whenever I read it! :icon14:

Did you notice The HA HA

I went to the dealer today

24month at 66% msrp =w/tax $985 = $23,640 less 8.5% = $21,630

24 mo. to buy w/ VPP $38,075 (MSRP $41,840) w/ $5,000 down - $1,451 payments (Z value =66% off leaves $15,000 Div. by 24 = $625 per month in your pocket ($1451 - $985 = $466 mo.) opps $159 compaired to lease.

36 moonths at Didn;t give = w/tax $650 = $23,400 less 8.5% = $21,411

36 mo. to buy w/ VPP payments are $996

.

Jasonviper 01-16-2009 09:06 PM

Can anyone confirm if the residual value is 66% for 24 month lease? and will the MF be .00318??

G in ny 01-20-2009 02:08 PM

Zlips 01-21-2009 07:41 AM

Those number do seem a bit high.

Leasecompare.com always has good money factors and residuals:

No, I don't work for them...

Always lease if you can...

No, you are just paying the depreciation. If you buy, your car depreciates the same amount as a leased car.

Why always lease? Because in 3 years if you have an accident, you can just turn in your lease. How are you going to sell your wrecked Z? You won't. Not with Carfax and the other services today. People see the wreck and you'll own that Z forever.

My last BMW lease had 2 accidents that were not my fault. There would have been no way I would have sold that car.

Leasing is way smarter. If you don't like the car, give it back. If you do, then just buy it at lease end. Most car enthusiast get tired of a car after a few years. Look at all of the fools trying to sell their 350z now so they can get a 370z.

G in ny 01-24-2009 01:54 AM

I asked around some dealers for 3 years 0 down 12000 miles a year
This is what they told me
Dealer#1 = $740/month
Dealer#2= $700/month
Dealer#3=$670/month

Leasing company that one of my freind works in $564 a month

This is a fully loaded Z in 6mt

Currently my monthly payment for my G is $466 and I put down $5000 when I leased it. But im not putting anythiing down this time.

Might be getting into a Z soon!
The prices are ridiculos right now. But it wont be changing anytime soon. Their new maxima still goes for the same price and its been out for almost a year.

Well is that with the penalty of ending your G lease early? Or will you just buy out of that? If so, how much is the early termination fee?
