Especially considering there's more likely to be gouging/no wiggle room on twins pricing relative to Z pricing.

Better MPG on the 4 cylinder FRS/BRZ?
(useless) back seats?

MSRP for an FR-S is still ~26k so that's like 2-3k difference between them and Z. To some that's a small difference, to others it's a world of a difference.

For one of the twins: ~$20% less money for ~65% less power and way less lux.

Maybe if one was paying cash, but another couple of grand over a 5 year car loan isn't much.

So im assuming you won't be able negotiate down much if at all from msrp. From what I read they dropped all the Nissans down closer to invoice price so the models would show up in different groups of cars so they would compare more favorably.

I guess we will see.

Great news for me 4k more in mods is what I will tell my self haha.

as said before by a few other people, i think it has more to do with the exchange rate when it comes to the Z as the Z is exclusively made in japan and with how much the yen has come down it has made it alot cheaper for many manufacturers to produce goods for export there which would translate to the pretty significant price cut that we are now seeing on the 2014 Z compared to the 2013. having looked at the 2013 invoice price over at truecars i can already tell you that they are already well below the invoice on the 2013's with the way the 2014's are priced now on the order of around $2,000 below the invoice on a 2013 so it's kind of a question mark at this point as far as negotiating down to invoice price on the 2014's, but i will let everyone know when i get the invoice price from the dealer my 2014 is being shipped to

Sweet yeah let us know. I'm getting mine in about 1-2 months. And I would like to know the typical price.

The only difference I noticed looking at the site for 2014's was the shifter looks different for the auto.

That difference is really nothing unless you are paying cash. Another few grand on a five year loan is like 50 bucks a month.

Basically for like 15% more money you get 65% more power (and much better performance all the way around) and a much nicer interior.

Anyway, looks like I'm not the only fellow to see that Nissan is gunning for the twins...

Maybe but thats 3000 bucks either way u cut it . In that case if we apply it to 14 z pricie drop, its like sayings that is insignificant.

But your right z is way more car than toyura twins.

Not at all -- my point is strictly a matter of bang for your buck. The Z offers much more bang per buck in my view.

The twins have two major things going for it: It's very hot right now and it should get better MPG.

Otherwise, its simply a matter of how much you like/loathe one over the other -- after all, you could pass on both and get a Mustang or Camaro, which have potentially even greater bang for the buck.

But... if you want a sleek sports car (as opposed to a pony or muscle car, although that line continues to bur...), you pretty much are deciding between the twins and the Z.

Unless, of course, you are also looking at MX-5's, in which case the Z will lose by virtue of being a bit too big.

A hardcore "I want a light, tossable car, and power be damned" kind of consumer will probably only be looking at the twins and a Miata, in which case, the twins are the better option, IMO.

Now I kinda feel Nissan did this to compete with FRS.
