Well. you can get a 2014 base+sport for 33k MSRP

For example the brakes would be nice if I could pay just for that option. And I really would like the seats on the touring, but not for that premium. And I never wanted the Bose system because I want to upgrade. So it looks like I will get a base and do my own upgrades as I see fit.

Well, $3k is a deal. You get a garbage VSLD, at least it's not nothing, then those brakes are worth $2000, and the wheels you can EASILY sell for $1000+, not to mention the spoiler and SRM which you cannot add after.

And I'd pay $3k for touring. I personally don't mind the Bose I have now, and I NEED the comfort of the Touring seats, my biggest thing is that I WANT the factory Nav because I think it looks GREAT in that location and I don't want to have my Nav where the stereo is. But at a total of $7k... I don't think so... So if I were to be buying a new 370Z, I actually wouldn't... I'd wait...

2013 pricing

On vacation in Tenessee and have been thinking about getting another Z. After reading this thread glad to hear pricing is coming back a bit, as the price increases over the last couple years had may considering other options.

So I thought I would stop in the local dealership and take a look at the Magma Red since I haven't seen one in person yet.

Turns out the dealership had up-charged about $200 for nitrogen inflation, $200 for locking lugs, and on top of that a "Market Adjustment" of about $1000 on a 2013 Sport Touring.

I chuckled and walked away. It was one of the few times I was disappointed that a salesman wasn't sweating me as soon as I got outa my car. woulda' really enjoyed telling him how asinine his pricing was.

Thanks, So I guess my question is do I walk and eat the $465 I paid to transfer here or do you think car max may change the price after arrival ?
I haven't made a purchase order and I know they are the no haggle dealer, but havent been in this situation before. Gun- metal gray with sport package is kinda hard to find in this area.

That is an interesting situation. I would shop around and do some/phone calls. And see if the difference is worth it. Would also see if they will work with you on bringing the price down a little. And go from there.

I would bring up the price of an exact optioned 2014 and show it to them.

But your right z is way more car than toyura twins.

Not at all -- my point is strictly a matter of bang for your buck. The Z offers much more bang per buck in my view.

The twins have two major things going for it: It's very hot right now and it should get better MPG.

Otherwise, its simply a matter of how much you like/loathe one over the other -- after all, you could pass on both and get a Mustang or Camaro, which have potentially even greater bang for the buck.

But... if you want a sleek sports car (as opposed to a pony or muscle car, although that line continues to bur...), you pretty much are deciding between the twins and the Z.

Unless, of course, you are also looking at MX-5's, in which case the Z will lose by virtue of being a bit too big.

A hardcore "I want a light, tossable car, and power be damned" kind of consumer will probably only be looking at the twins and a Miata, in which case, the twins are the better option, IMO.

If you're serious, I'd unfortunately need a bit of info......
Date purchased, dealer, vin, your full name and address.

Yes sounds sketchy, but I think 50 forum members know where I live because I've sent something to them or they've sent something to me.
And I hope I've got a BIT of forum backing that I can have people vouch for me that (at least I hope) I'm a good guy

Alvitdk, if you're serious, shoot me a PM, or a text, I'm 100% on board to see if I can get some money that'll be given to a charity, and I really am 90% sure I can make it happen

Traveling right now in Australia but will be back Monday after next week. No problem giving you the info if indeed it goes to a charity, and I would like to see which one. I will pm you the info and we take it from there, actually a great idea.

That's one of the many reasons I love my Z. It's uniqueness on the road. It's unmistakeable shape (even different from the 350 by a wide margin) gets all the glances and wide eyed oogling that are more or less reserved for exotics. Well worth the price I paid ($36.5K for Touring/Sport/6 Speed/No Nav). But then, I am a true Z fanatic - this is my second Z (my first being a 1990 Twin Turbo)

Sounds good!
(Any charity is ok with me, you decide)

I decided to raise a little hell on their FB page because the more I think about it the more I'm mad about it and want to see them respond. I'm so glad I leased now because there is no way I'm buying now. I don't need cash or a lower payment but I did want to buy it and I'm not buying it for what my contract says now. If I did get a rebate it'd go to the car so when I do buy its that much cheaper.

If anyone cares

The new price mostly reflects the market price of the car anyway. I bought a 2012 base + sport msrp $36k paid $33k. Should I be pissed that they dropped the price to $33k? It's what I paid so no, I'm not. My guess is that no one is getting $3k below msrp on the 14's. Also I got 0% APR, I'm not sure if they are doing that for the 2014

The price was lowered partly because of the yen, and partly because they couldn't sell them at the price they wanted anyway.

Notice that the higher priced models had no change at all, a touring model used to be the same price as a base+sport, now it's a $2k premium. Seriously $5k more than a base! The nismo is now $13k?!! over the base model! They know the demographics, those models appeal to those who are less price sensitive and the sporty models are priced for younger enthuists who are looking at FRS or mustang 5.0s.

Be happy with what you have. Don't let today change the outlook you had yesterday.

bghoward... like a beacon of clarity in a sea of retards

I like how people say they signed a contract agreeing to whatever price they paid for the 2013 and now want a refund.

I'm no lawyer, but isn't that a breach of contract?
