Just got VIN for my Z a few days ago and...
 

Just was curious as to who else had ordered a Z back in about april. Just asking cause the VIN my dealer sent me indicates that the model year of my Z is 2014 and i wasnt even aware that Nissan was already making the 2014 model year already. Anyone that can chime in would be much appreciated as i am just curious as to if i've been randomly picked to have one of the first 2014's lol

I ordered mine on the 20th of may and got it today. 17 days. Not sure if it was from Japan but I know it came from LA on train, then to a hub for transport on a car hauler semi truck with a black GTR with it. New model years normally come out 6 months early. If you don't have it yet in the states than that's about right.

well according to the dealer i ordered it through the car is set to be delivered the week of the 28th of this month which is a whole month early than what they initially expected it to arrive..."it's floating out in the ocean" to quote what my dealer told me lol

What did you buy that was so special? Certain color or accessories?

nothing to special, just ordered a midnight blue, sport/touring with everything except the nav...kinda wondering what they did for the 2014's though as i heard rumors that nissan was planning "something big" for the Z for the 2014 MY

That's crazy 2014 is out?! I just picked up my z about two weeks ago, I ordered it on January 26 picked it up May 25 its a 2013, have fun with your new Z

Z_ealot, congrats on the new Z! We'll need one to do some measurements on for products like the Gen 3's to confirm fitment, etc.

sooo, little update...turns out that my Z is being held by nissan for the time being as the release date for the 2014's hasnt officially been announced so at the moment my Z is sitting at the port waiting to have accessories installed and to be given the OK by nissan to let it go. dealership is now estimating time of arrival to be somewhere around middle of July to early August, kinda sad, but happy to know that my Z is at least already in the states :)

And what accessories are being installed?!?!?!

Not really sure but im guessing things like the splashguards and illuminated kick plates seeing as from what i remember those arent installed at the factory...no biggie for me though im pretty patient lol

Damn my car feels old now being 5 weeks old 2012 with 700 miles on it now. All 700 miles are mine, lol

don't worry you'll never get tired of looking at it, i know i don't everytime i see one cruising down the road and driving it is an experience unto itself :D

Always a good feeling! I wouldn't let the dealer drive mine and made them get it from off the boat, no dealer trades.
