I daily drive my Z as well, so the Touring was definately worth the extra cost above the base. You will likely not find a noticable increase in ride quality, noise or price to maintain on the sports package. Considering you are willing to pay $800 for all those other pieces, I would consider shelling out for a little more and getting a manual Touring with Sport. You (or rather you if you are like me) will be much happier in the long run. But it is your money and you are going to be better at judging whether you will kick yourself everytime you see a Z and notice it has the sport pack and you don't. You may not. I LOVE sports cars and wanted the best starting point. More important, if you are considering the sport pack, test drive one and pay close attention to the most important addition: SRM. It may sell you on it by itself. I've only ever owned manual transmissions for my cars and was uncertain if the purist in me would take to SRM. I used to heal-toe downshift my DSMs. I don't even like the dual-clutches (tried the new Audi TT), but I leave SRM on and love it to death. Oh, and the price, well, talk to more than one dealer. In fact, call Dealer A and ask for their best price on a Touring Manual Sport out the door (OTD). Then call Dealer B and tell them that Dealer A gave you this quote for OTD and you want to know if they will beat it and you'll pick up the car today. Then call Dealer C and do the same. Finally, call Dealer A back. Somewhere in there, you will get a below or at invoice quote. I dealt with 4 dealerships here (Houston: Baker-Jackson, Sterling McCall, Tom Peacock, Mossy) and got mine for invoice OTD the very day they hit the ground. Got the color and options I wanted too. They dealer trade, so don't let them pull that "Well, I have the car you want BS." I hope this helps. Happy hunting. Last edited by Scribe; 07-28-2009 at 03:55 PM. |

I'm in Georgia so the gas and flight would kill the deal unfortunately.
After reading the "how much you paid for your Z" threads on here I feel a lot more comfortable about the price that I was quoted. The threads were a bit confusing because some people quoted price + TTL and some quoted cost before dest. and dealer fees and some quoted price + dest and dealer fees but without TTL. I just had to assume what they meant based on the prices they gave. I'm going to send a nicely worded email to one of the GMs at the dealership with my offer and see if he wants to see the car this week. Good idea or should I just work with one of the internet salespeople? |

your best bet is to call in and talk directly to the internet sales person. don't even set foot inside the dealer until you've got the deal you want over the phone. Instead of getting you into the sales office to trap you, they have to work to get the numbers down.

In this case, about 3 and half months of waiting dropped the price about $800. Now to wait on the check from PenFed or make sure Nissan can give me at least 3.99% or lower and I'm all set! |

all their 370z's were $5k off up until last week. I think they only have a few left. it seems like they changed the deal to $3500 off with 0% now. I would give Rod a call. he's the internet manager and is who I worked with (contact info on their site).
