40.5K '13 Nismo asking for too much?
I found a '13 Nismo for $42,400 which included the Bose package and back-up camera. I visited the dealer to test drive it and fell in love with it (although I wish Nismos could have the nav package but you can't get everything). I gave an asking price of $40,500 and they would NOT budge and actually seemed offended that I had the audacity to lowball them. Even offered $41,500, still no go.
Are the 2 figures I offered too low? Am I being cheap? I know MSRP is roughly $46,000 but they kept insisting that I would never find a Nismo for 41K or less with the Bose package. |

The dealer here in Virginia Beach, two of them actually, are advertising their Nismo models, one a '12 for roughly $41.5k and a '13 for a tad over $42k. The '14 is about to be released so if they insist on $45 or whatever they think they can get for the car (often over MSRP o_0) and if you are thinking that's the best you can do and will pay it then I'd wait for the '14. Is there any reason you won't get a '12? Are you dead set on a '13? What about used?
And I second that the Nismo is nice. Love the ride. Just didn't want to pay that kind of money just to change everything in the end. lol |

It only has 7 miles so it's pretty much brand new.
I feel pretty dead set on the '13 since it's the only model that includes the Bose/bluetooth package and the gunmetal rims. Surprisingly, I initially wanted the base 370Z with sport/touring/navi but after having test driven and seen the Nismo in person, I no longer care for the navigation and now want the Nismo badly Guess I'll have to fork out the 42K... But I'll keep looking around. |

So I've decided not to get the Nismo but found a fully loaded 2011 370Z (sport/touring/NAV) for $31K with 11K miles.
Is this a good deal? The car is out of state but I'm willing to have it shipped (and pay the shipping cost which shouldn't be more than $1K). |

I've found its often better to get what you want the first time. Instead of settling and wishing later. Here are a few NISMOs in your part of the country you may want to take a look at:
- Texas - Addison - 2011 NISMO 20,552 miles Silver/Chrome - For 34K - Texas - Stafford - 2012 NISMO 21,154 miles Red/Chrome - For 34K - Alabama - Huntsville - 2013 NISMO 559 miles, For 38K - Georgia - Savannah - 2013 NISMO 4,491 miles, For 37K - Georgia - Atlanta - 2009 NISMO 22,500 miles, for 27, 5. -Cincinnati, Oh - 2013 NISMO 3,100 Black on Gunmetal -for 39K (Think this is a forum member. This car looks Badass!) I just got my NISMO and the previous owner installed upgraded the stock radio. You could do the same if you want Navi. Good Luck! Just looked up flights from Houston to Atlanta....under 200 bucks. Last edited by Darketch; 06-09-2013 at 01:25 AM. |

Better off waiting for used you can save almost a 3rd over new MSRP once you drive off the lot you get effed. If you can find a used Nismo with good service record you're better off. Also check for mods, if there are a bunch on the car I would shy away since there is a good chance the car has been driven hard.

did it have a touring package and navigation also? Sport package brand new is only like 34 or 35 so thats about right for what you paid, but if its a sport and touring with navigation than thats over 40k brand new and you got one hell of a deal.

The $31K one I have in mind is certified pre-owned with a clean carfax report. Can I be confident in purchasing it? The car is on the other side of the country so I can't look at it in person and would have to have it shipped to my door. I am still surprised that it's priced that low since it's fully loaded and about 2K cheaper than the ones without touring and nav.

Just shopping around, I see a ton of Zs for sale in Texas. If I were you, I would do my best to see and test drive the car before you purchase. Yes, the world is founded on "Trust", but like my friend says: "There are two people I trust in this world....Me...and You.....and I have my doubts about YOU!"
Help us help you. Tell us what year, color, transmission, miles, upgrades you're looking for...and max you are willing to pay. I'll get serious about looking for you. So far we know you like the Nismo, but want the features of a Touring. My suggestion is you either go with the Nismo and upgrade the radio and speakers with a system that will support a backup cam....or get a Touring and do the bolt on performance parts. Either way, as you already kniw, there are a ton of folks on the forums who you can turn to for suggestions and help with installs. |
