Oh yeah huge scam.
Use to see these all the time on other car forums, people "claim" to own the car and just steal pictures from sale ads (autotrader, craigslist, etc.) and post them in other cities. Claim they are not here and cannot take more pictures, want a deposit so you test the car. |
Oh yeah, it's a scam. This guy isn't even trying hard. Read all the words he's saying to you. It's up to you to research and take due diligence with your money. I see this all the time. THIS. IS. A. SCAM.
Read this from my Z website. I lead on a scammer and have some fun with him. They use the same container / shipping BS you're being told. LOLZ! Fun with scammers: 300 ZX for sale. Zak |
I found the email that dude tried to send OP:
From: Mr. Wong Du Seoul,South Korea. Dearest Johncarlopang: I will introduce myself I am Mr.Wong du a Banker working in a bank in south Korea Until now I am the account officer to most of the south Korea government accounts and I have since discovered that most of the account are dormant account with a lot of money and Nissan 370Z in the account on further investigation I found out that one particular Nissan 370Z belong to the former president of south Korean MR PARK CHUNG HEE,who ruled south Korean from 1963-1979 and this particular account has a deposit of $48m with no next of kin and Nissan 370Z. My proposal is that since I am the account officer and the money or the account and Nissan 370Z is dormant and there is no next of kin obviously the account owner the former president of South Korea has died long time ago, that you should provide an account for the money to be transferred. The money that is floating in the bank right now is $48m and Nissan 370Z and this is what I want to transfer to your account for our mutual benefit. Please if this is okay by you I will advice that you contact me through my direct email address for delivery of Nissan 370Z and account contents. Please this transaction should be kept confidential. I cannot provide pictures of Nissan 370Z due to dispatch preparation of vehicle. For your assistance as the account owner we shall share the money on equal basis and Nissan 370Z. Your reply will be appreciated, Thank you. Wong Du |

Goodness...as soon as I saw the 50% deposit part, I already knew that it's a scam. It does not even need any further research. And the part about being out of country, they all use that same line.

Then again you're in Vegas, LOL :roflpuke2: I'm going to go to sleep and I'll try to help you find the 370Z for you, lol General "my" rule of thumb, you want to pay a bit less than the KBB trade in value for a car |

John, I had good luck at Henderson Nissan. I recommend them if you find one there. I would give you the salesman's name, but he moved on. Their Service center isn't bad either, they actually recommended my Wife not change her pads left because they still had plenty of life and replaced the fluid instead.

Are these guys US or international based? Do they actually make money off these scams? I am curious with these guys. When I get these letters, I just get them to send their fake money order to the police department here.
