Me and my wife (she has 5 tickets and 2 accidents i have none) have full coverage on a 2009 z a 1994 tt supra a 2002 land rover a 2004 mazda 3 and a 2005 royal star and its only 250 a month. $50 deductible on the z and the supra $0 on the rover $500 on the mazda and $500 on the royal star. She is 20 i am 22

25k is low but if you don't have 5k in property and accounts, it's not like someone can sue you for more.

Single driver does not pay for pile ups. They normally pay in the order the pile up happened with the last guy not paying anything.

Woh, are you in for a big surprise! They'll garnish your wages from now until you die to pay off debt from a lawsuit. Any tax refunds you might be due are automatically gone. Lottery winnings are automatically forfeit up to the amount you owe. Don't think that just because you don't have readily available assets now means you're safe (unless you don't mind living the life of a pauper until you're dead).
The single driver pays for every item he hits, OR causes damage to by direct action. It won't take many hits to rack up a sizable bill. And what if you slide off of the side of a neighborhood road and take out the corner of a house (seen several stories like that in the paper or on national news... not often, but sh!t happens). Or more likely, what if you hit a $40k truck carrying a $50k cigarette boat on a trailer, popping the boat off of the trailer? You think the insurance company is going to say "You're only liable for the damage to the truck... you never hit the boat."?

I in fact am not in for a big surprise since I am insured with $1 million policy and have my own lawyer. You will be in a big surprise when you sue someone with no money for future money they will never have. You will get stuck with the attorney bill when they leave country for good. Any intelligent person wouldn't sue them in the first place, and any intelligent person would leave the country if the are sued and loose.

I am 24. My policy includes a house and multiple vehicles. I pay $88/month for full coverage on the 370z with Statefarm, if I drive less than 7.5k miles a year. I added my parents on the car policy to lower my premium. My agent quote me $44/month if I live with my parents but unfortunately I work and live in a different city about 1hr away. Had one ticket, but they cleared it after 3 years.

I got this quote after hassling my agent with a bunch of phone calls and questions.

You're forgetting depreciation. 40K Z Touring is worth $35K as soon as you drive it off the lot, if not quite a bit less.

Also, there's the point (depending on your state) that liability falls within the scope of who's at fault, and, your insurance pays for the other guy's property.

By purchasing insurance at a higher rate, you're basically betting against yourself and your ability to drive and avoid an accident. Most cars on the road are well under 25K considering their depreciated value, so, there ya go.

If it makes you sleep better at night having more insurance, by all means.

Regarding sliding off the road and hitting someone's house

Homeowners insurance takes over the rest. Unlike auto insurance, homeowners insurance portects your own property from damage, not someone else's.

Watch out for GIECO giving you discounts which don't apply. Your rate will go up at renewal because of it.

They made me out to be a member of some organization that I've never even heard of. Gave me a $75/mo discount, and they masked a ticket that my wife got, even though the GIECO agent I spoke with pulled the DMV report and told me it was on her record (which I had forgotten about it) - when I called later about the membership issue, I checked on the ticket since it was also not "showing up" on the online deally. Person on the other end "updated" my rate, and it was $2 less than what I was paying before.

I cancelled my insurance with GEICO on the day it was to take effect, and reinstated my insurance with my previous carrier.


Also, all the other companies were higher. Progressive especially..."name your own price" - BS!

Nissan has roadside assistance for at least a year or two as part of owning it. I think that also covers rental reimbursment? (might want to check)

i'm 21, been in a car accident (my fault) when I was 18. I got a speeding ticket about 5 months ago (going 83 on a 65) and i got quoted about $900/6 months from geico.

mine was like $450 for 6months. i own 4 cars and a house so i think im getting some good deals. also my Z is covered under leisure car insurance so that helps too. if your z is a weekend car like mine, check with your agent for such policies.

I just checked with these guys and they are good my quote was $116 a month Im 33 though with a clean whistle. (record) lol
