Dealership just gave me a VIN number on a new Z I've been looking it. Long story short I'm not sure what the best way is to search the VIN

Long story short I'm not sure what the best way is to search the VIN and what I'm exactly looking for. I may have written down the wrong number but when I search it through stuff found on google it said the number doesn't exists. I'm wondering if the car is so new that the VIN isn't in the system yet. The was manufactured last month and is still at a distribution center and has never been to a dealer yet. Any advise would be great, thanks!
