2013 OTD pricing - What did you pay?

:hello: Finally got over some personal issues that have been keeping me from buying a Z so I started calling dealerships today to see what kind of price I would get back.

Asking for a 2013 6sp with sports package the price came out to $38,243.39 OTD. Does that seem rather high or is that reasonable for the options? I was quoted that price for a touring Z two years ago.:ugh2:

Well, it's $34k before ttl. I'm talking about OTD, with cali tax it comes out to about another $3000.

So if what you're giving me is pre-tax then it seems $38k is correct?

LakeShow 11-05-2012 02:16 AM

Well find out your selling price, msrp of the vehicle, tax, etc. 38kOTD almost sounds like a reasonable amount considering Cali sales tax. You should be in the approximate 36,500-38k range OTD

dP3NGU1N 11-05-2012 03:42 PM

Has anyone in cali gotten a 2013 for $36500 OTD? If I can get that price I'd grab one tomorrow. Certainly sounds significantly better than 38k though not quite as good as the $35k I had expected.

Dont forget to find out what their DOC Fees are. I have seen some dealerships go as high as $599.

Some salesman will include it in their bottom line price, some don't. Some have tried to pull the BS that the DOC Fee is like Tax, Title, & License -- "It is Pre-printed on the sales form"

dP3NGU1N 11-06-2012 02:59 PM

The doc fees the dealership gave me was, like you said $599. That sounds like a load of bullocks to me. Is this something I can have them waive off if I'm adamant enough?

speedracer007 11-06-2012 03:15 PM

Either push for getting rid of the fee, or work to reduce the price by $599.

I work for a price that INCLUDES the Doc Fees, but not the Tax, Title & License. The Tax is based on what you pay for the car, and the Title & License are the same no matter what dealership you buy it from.

Taxes differs ALOT from state to state, so you really need to understand what it is for the state of Cali. Also, in my state, you pay tax on the difference between a trade-in and a new car purchase price. Another tax thing to take into account is that the tax rate is different in different cities, so you may end up paying more in taxes based just on what dealership you buy it at. (A 1% difference on $35000 comes out to $350). It is worth it to take a few minutes to read up on taxes on your state's website.

dP3NGU1N 11-06-2012 03:31 PM

Yeah, acutely aware of what my tax rate is, unfortunately. 8.75% in my city, it's borderline extortion.

Magic Bus 11-06-2012 03:50 PM

dP3NGU1N, I special ordered a 2013Z in the exact same configuration as you've mentioned (received delivery in August of this year). My OTD price was $37,300.

All details of my sale is listed in the "Introduction" section. Please look for the title "2013 On Order", it's on the 2nd page now.

I listed all the details including MSRP, invoice price, tax, license, registration, etc. This post & replys went 4 pages long with all the final price details on page 4. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions.

Good luck:tup: Oh by the way, I really enjoy this car:driving:

ShutokuZ 11-07-2012 12:44 AM

OP, I got my PW 13 sport 6mt for $34,000 OTD from Huntington Beach Nissan. I also got the Maint gold for three years thrown in for free.
I was at the dealership haggling for about 4 hours and did not trade anything in.
Good luck and don't settle for the first deal you get:tup:

ak808 11-07-2012 01:57 AM

Wow that's a great deal for both of you! Can you share how you guys negotiated this with the dealership?

A base 2013Z 6mt w/sport package and no options, dealer invoice is $34,444. Assuming $300 for registration/license and a 6% sales tax, the dealer sold you this car for $31,792. That is $2,652 below invoice and that's not including the 3 year maintenance plan.

I would love to learn how to negotiate better, thanks.

Correction, Mine was actually $34,303, not $34,000. I leased based on that agreed upon OTD price with a money factor equivalent to 1.09%. No balloon payment at end and option to buy like usual. Best thing to do is negotiate the OTD price, before even mentioning lease or finance choice. Same goes with trading in. Never mention a trade in, prior to agreeing on the car price. Salesmen don't like that, but oh well! I was there for a while negotiating with getting up to leave a few times.
I learned a lot from my father who was a Finance and Insurance manager for Dodge for over 25 years. That, and flipping cars every two-three years my whole driving life.

RandyD 11-08-2012 04:41 PM

The new Roadsters i looked at today were stickering at 52,000... so i didn't trade up (over) :)

HArturo319 11-09-2012 04:40 AM

Did a little research a little earlier...
so; i got offered $43,365 for a 2013 NISMO (Magma Red)

I am planning on putting down 4k and a California tax of 3.5K (it hurts) which would put me back at roughly 43k... that sound ok to you guys if I can finagle it a little better?

dP3NGU1N 11-11-2012 10:06 PM

So I just left the dealership with a new car.

2013 PW 6mt base + sport - $37,150 OTD in california. Hope this helps anyone looking to deal in the future!

I purchased 370z sports package, stick shift. OUT THE DOOR including tax and all..35K If you're paying out the door over 37k...then I consider that higher than average. but then again..if you're throwing in options like leather seats, Navi, then of course you'll be in the high 30's.

The price of 2013 models went up by an average of $2k across the board compared to 2012 models which would be inline with the $37k OTD figure; moreso since you have a 2011. Everything in its proper context.

Speaking of context, holy necrobump.

Winn 07-03-2013 09:09 PM

These prices seem very high, I just got a 2013 6sp+sport with 1.6kmi
for 29,895. Factory exec car.. This same dealer has some other very low mileage 2012's. Another Red 6 sp sport with 1.3k for the same price, 2 touring with nav for 35k. These guys have pre neg prices, no games it's what you see on their web site. Wayzata Nissian (MN)

coolvans1988 07-04-2013 09:05 AM

i got mine for 34.5K for a 7AT (since they cost more than 6MT).
With taxes and fees, a near of $37kish.

hawkerpilot62 07-06-2013 11:19 AM

North Texas: 2013 White Touring Sport Nav Roadster AT 48k. (Off the lot incl. TTL) I was told it had every option available...

Infidel 07-06-2013 11:49 AM

'13 GM Sport 6mt $36400 OTD. I also bought a warranty and service plan but cancelled both when I decided to go TT. I know there was a little more money on the table but I'm an impatient idiot.:shakes head:

Nailzs 07-07-2013 07:34 AM

2013 with every option Nissan offers, sport, touring, nav, Bose, 7AT with Z mats front and rear and splash guards for $37,800 before taxes shipping and handling.
