Penfed question I do not want to ait on the phone to ask.....

I finally applied for the Penfed new auto loan, HOWEVER, I did not check that I have chosen a car already. I see that I was pre-approved for the loan, but I have a feeling this is not the last step, is there another level of approval that has to occur in order for me to get the loan? Thanks everyone!

PS The reason why I have not chosen my car yet, was the fact that I have to figure out if I am going to keep my 2003 Rav4 (paid off) that comes in handy in city parking and getting around during the winter. Most likely I am going to keep it, but if not. I will probably end up having to pick up an AWD vehicle.

Yeah, I think there is. I was trying to obtain a loan as well, but it was asking me which dealership and the amount was needed. Since I hadn't been able to find a suitable dealer up here in Chicago, I couldn't get it going yet.

Mine just wanted the vin#, name of dealership and if I wanted the check overnight. I'm still waiting for my car but once I get it, I give them a call and they say it's that easy since you are pre-approved online. Their customer service is great.

Thanks for the reply guys. I just received the check today, apparently there was nothing else for me to do. I sometimes think that getting the loan was a little to easy, but I have a credit score close to 800 and have a pretty long credit history.......thanks again for the replies!

I applied today and did not have the car selected. When I call about 30 minutes later to confirm the rep. told me that it usually takes 24-48 hours to be approved. As we were on the phone she then told me that it looks like it was approved and they would be sending me a check to present to a dealer of my choosing. I am not sure who recommended Pentagon Federal but thanks.
