370z Sport Package or Nismo?
hey u guys,
i am new to the forum. hopefully this is the right place to ask some questions. looking to trade in my 08 G35 Sedan with a Z, but i can't make up my mind on which to purchase, the Z Sport or the Nismo? some are saying it is not worth the extra $5K or so, to get the Nismo, when the Z sport performs about the same. don't get me wrong, i know the Nismo has better specs, but is it worth the extra$$$? also, do most of you have to "pre-order" the Nismo? And how much did you paid for yours? thanks! |

I'm not big on modding .. and prefer the look and performance of the Nismo .. so that is the one I decided to go with. However, you really can't go wrong either way. The sport would probably be better if you're in to modding it yourself.
Regarding having to order the Nismo ... that really depends a lot on the color you want, if you want Bose, and what is available in your area. The nearest one in the config I wanted was 400+ miles away and was going to require extra shipping $, so I opted to order one. I don't yet know what the final OTD price is going to be, but I'm getting it for $500 under invoice. Invoice for mine from my order is $40,182. |

Heavy modding=Sport Z, not looking to spend that much modding=Nismo Z. Nismo Z looks good as is and not much exterior modding needed, maybe just some performance.

If you want to get the Nismo because of the 18HP increase, that would be one expensive mod. Throw a CAI on the Base Z and you are there for ~$500.
If if you want a factory upgraded package across the board (and can afford it), get the Nismo.

Go with the NISMO. You won't regret it.

I'll sum up the next 30 posts for you. Nismo owners love their nismos and sport package owners love their sport package. Nismo owners will say the extra money is well spent, while the sport package owners will argue you could get more performance spending that money on aftermarket mods.
Then someone's gonna get butt hurt, and everyone's gonna start pissing all over each other. |

You WILL find some Sport package owners that wish they had gotten the Nismo however. You usually never regret going with the best available option.

As an owner of a Nismo, I will say it makes sense to buy the car if you like the factory Nismo bodykit and Rays wheels, and dont plan on changing them out. I would have probably just bought a different model if it wasnt for the fact the Nismo bodykit costs a couple thousand, and then paint on top of that...at which point you should have just bought the Nismo to start with.
I will say, daily driving the Nismo is not fun. The rear likes to buck up like a horse over bumps, so then you may feel the need to change out the suspension, which some may argue defeats the point of buying the Nismo. The base stereo sucks (not sure what the Sport model gets), but I think it would be nice to have the nav system. When I was looking to buy a white one, I couldnt find any near me on autotrader.com Then I called a local dealer who checked the national inventory and told me there were two white ones at the same dealership 400 miles away. I told them I would buy the car for what they were asking if they covered shipping, which they did. |
