Question New buyer

Hey all,
I am looking at buying a Z for the first time. It is a 2011, Red with about 6000miles on it. Price of $37,200. This is a list of mods it has on it:
- Injen G3 Intake
- Full Fast Intentions Non-Resonated Carbon fiber exhaust
- KwV3 Coilovers
- Stoptech sloted front brake rotors and pads (in the process of being installed)
- Door handles color matched
- Sony DVD Headunit
- Back up rear camera
- Massive Audio N4 and NX4 Amps
- Hybrid Audio L6SE's in the door and Dynaudio highs mounted in the dash
- 3 Alpine 8 inch type R's
- Expel Clear Bra across the 1/4 hood and side mirrors

I am not too interested in the sound system, but that is something that I can part out. What I am curious of is this a good deal, or am I basically paying the same amount as a new one. Any other thoughts or opinions are wanted! thanks!

37,200 for a 2011? Thats def too high, I know 2013s are going for that much

Matter a fact here is one for example 2013 Nissan 370Z, $37,375 - Cars.com

Good point, but how do you judge with the mods. Thats has been one thing i have always had a hard time judging. If I am correct the coilovers he has and brakes were not cheap. And it also has 6k miles on it.

to me mods don't really add value/price to a car.. in fact I'd much prefer the car I buy to be as close to stock as possible. don't really like the idea of 'performance mods' on a used car.. makes me think the last guy probably drove it pretty hard.

that's just my personal opinion though.. I'm sure a lot of guys would like having a 'done up' car from the get-go.

for that price however I myself would just get a brand new 2013 with that fresh warranty and delicious new car smell. I don't feel that those mods on a car that's 2 years old would warrant zero depreciation (heck, maybe even a profit)

He has some nice mods on it and he spent a pretty penny on it. If its a nismo with those mods maybe thats an ok deal but if it were a nismo i wouldnt pay more than 33k for that car. If its a base model i wouldnt pay more than 25k sadly i dont think our cars retain the value very well if i were u id find out if its a base, sport, sport touring, touring, or nismo then kbb that car and then add 3k to that for the mods

I agree with a lot of the other people here. Those mods are awesome don't get me wrong but when you sell a car you can't expect to get a 100% return on the mods you put on, which looks how this is priced.

It is a nismo, and as far as I can tell from him, and others this car is well taken care of and babied. I mean he barely has any miles on it! decisions decisions...

In general, I would take the base value of car, approximate Mod cost, then divide mod cost by 50%. Add that to cost of car.

If they are done correctly and in good taste (most of them are audio, DVD, exhaust, nothing that's going to screw up the car) great. If they are not your taste and you are replacing them...then why look at this car?

Suspension is a tough call too...is that really what you want vs. stock car?

So it all boils down to do you want an already modded car, or a brand new car that you can mod. And are the mods on the car ones you like/need.

I still say go for a new car, the feeling of buying new is second to none imo.

Even with just a few miles, you need to check out the VIN # to make sure it has not been in a wreck or is a lemon. I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole. Plus, you can kiss the warranty goodbye. Plus, if you shop around you can get $3k off the sticker price on a new one (2013) in Dallas, TX.

He has a full CF F.I exhaust, that alone will add $10,000 to the value due to the long wait times to get your own exhaust from them

I totally agree with shinybluez...a modded car 9 out of 10 means someone has driven it exactly how u dream to lol. Havin sold/traded modded cars id never like 2 b on the receiving end. But with 6k one would guess it hasnt been beaten on 2bad. I would personally buy new and mod and install myself.
