supposedly ordered a Z - how long till Vin #?

Im having a gut feeling that maybe my dealership did not order my Z yet.
Mostly this feeling comes after finding out from various members on this board saying that their dealerships never ordered their Z and they never told them until months later.

I ordered (or so i think) my car on the 3rd, the guy said on the 5th is when they do their ordering so they will place the order on the 5th and 1 to 2 weeks later should have a VIN number and then we can finalize paperwork from there.

its been 4 weeks and They still dont have a VIN# for me. Im going to go to the dealership today and give them a hard time about it, but before I do,

How long does it really take to get a VIN number after a car is ordered? anyone who ordered in the past or any of the sponsored dealers care to answer? I appriciate it.

Also for the dealers, Can I demand to see proof that they ordered my car on the 5th? will they have documentation for that? I dont want them to use a "We dont have any kind of documentation as such, U just gotta trust us" line.
