Default Need advice on buying a 2013 370z Nismo

What should I expect to pay when buying a new 2013 370z nismo. I understand that vehicle is a hot item. Will dealer's sell at invoice? Do dealers advertised the vehicle for one price then increase the price when they have you in side their dealer? Any advice on a reputable dealer in the Dallas area?

Any suggestions or input is appreciated.

Hey,

This my own opinion or advise..you may take it or not... because I made a mistake in going to a dealership UN-prepared and closed the deal not the way I wanted it to be.
Good thing the Z is such a wonderful car to drive...so I forgive the Dealership but Im not gonna buy my next car with them.

1. Always go out PREPARED...do your Research about the car. Search for dealership within the 100mile radius depends how far you wanna go to get a better deal. I drove almost 300miles to get mine.
Compare the prices...most of them will ask you to come by before they talk to you about price.
a. Make sure they have the right color, right add ons etc. you like in their Inventory.
b. If you can make a visit a week before the end of the month or if you can wait until this December 3rd week before the year ends. They WILL be on their knees BEGGING.
c. If you can find a dealership who has a 2012 Nismo in their inventory then go for that one. Unless you really want a 2013. With the 2012 they might cut you a 5K-8K deal in December.

2. Go there early eat your breakfast and psyche yourself that you should be dictating the tempo and must be IN CONTROL OF THE BALL GAME.
a. Negotiation usually last 2-3 hrs so be strong take a lot of caffeine.
b. Its gonna be a brutal battle I tell you so again... Be PREPARED.

3. Do not show interest in buying the car...Play a role of a Snobbish Billionaire! Like you don't mind not buying the car...Say I might buy it if you give it on the price or terms I wanted. Play like a hard to get Hot Chick role also. Haha

a. Im sure they gonna ask you to write in a piece of paper the price, terms you wanted and they will ask you to sign it. That means you will buy the car if they are able to give your terms.
b. They will come back with the manager and make their offer next to your terms. Again play the "NO Deal" attitude if the offer in not to your liking.
c. Another hour if no terms has been settled then you go to the next stage which is "WALK AWAY" technique. Say I bet this dealership in ______ can give me what I want. In fact Im just giving your dealership a favor for the chance to make this deal happen other than to give it to someone else.
Im sure they will not let you go away....haha They will LOCK the doors at the EXIT.

3. Do not be scared to walk away if this deal do not fall through. Remember "Good things happen to those who patiently wait"!

4. Play your cards well its a POKER game.

5. Wish you luck on your new NISMO. Play to WIN.

BTW be ALERT with the finance manager.... READ and ASK everything before you sign the sale contract. They will Hypnotize you and will talk fast while they make you sign the contract.

If I had a gun that day I could have shot the finance manager!!! haha kidding.

Refuse any offers he makes.... like the Extended Warranty etc. Tell him you wanna think about it some more or just say NO. Unless you believe in it than go for it.
I did.

We learn from our MISTAKES right?

What Zoren said and don't play "four-square" with them, you can be there for hours going back and forth. DO NOT answer when they ask how much you can afford to pay per month, unless you're paying all cash. Definitely be willing to walk out the moment something doesn't feel right. I could've had the car I wanted at the Nissan dealer a few minutes from my house, but ended up walking out on their deal and drove over an hour away to get the same car and in the end I'm saving ~$15k. It took me almost 2 months of online research before I was confident in what I'm willing to pay.

Like they said search around. I drove about 150 miles to get the one I wanted. Last resort if you don't like it walk out and go sit in your car. Pretend to make phone calls whatever to other dealers. Tell them you're gonna go call another location. One dealership I went to didn't even have a nismo, we were just talking numbers. Def didn't like what they had offered and walked out. About a minute later he walks out knocking off two grand. Told him he was getting close to what I wanted but not there yet lol.

Thanks for all your advice so far. Zoren, you really put some thought into it, I appreciated. I am driving about 180 miles to get this nismo, and really dont want to go home empty handed. However, per the advices, patient is key. Sounds to me its a mind thing. I've bought new cars before but its always been in my local town of shreveport, so they are pretty honest and nice. I have been hearing alot about the coveted nismo and that dealers are pulling the old bait and switch or adding junk fees.
My mind is probably not all there when I am looking at the nismo, so my wife is coming along to make sure I don't sway from the target price.

What's a fair price for a nismo? dealers invoice?

Thanks for all your help.

You said it right on the money! That crazy finance manager read me through and through....He let me drive the Z all by myself and trashed it like HELL...Then BOOM!!!!.....Im in LOVE! I could not see numbers anymore its just baby I want to bring you home tonite.
That's another mistake of mine they are about to close the dealership 2hrs after I arrive. But the battle dragged on until 10pm and still have to drive 2hrs and 30mins home...So the pressure was on my back....Then I guess you know the end of the story.

But all in all I think it was a DRAW for both of us. Got a 6k drop on the sticker price but he got me at the add ons...plus the extended warranty.

The only let down was the attitude he showed me after the sale...They suck with aftermarket sale service. Its like an one night stand affair! haha.

Well you can't win them all I guess...What matters in the END is your happy with the car you bought. Never a day have passed I peeped to my garage just to check her.

If you can get a 2k off the sticker price for a 2013 I think that's a good price. Mine was 2011 model got it just this year. that is why I got a bigger cut of the pie. That is why I said if you rather wait and get the 2012 then you are in the driver seat all the way.....

HELLO Everyone,

My wife and I went to Trophy Nissan out of Dallas yesterday. I had read all comments and reviews on this dealer the night before, so I was well prepared for any curve balls. Trophy had some bad reviews but they were from quite awhile back. Reviews from 2011 and 2012 were pretty good, so I had something to be optimistic about. Anyways, got there an hour early, drove around the parking lot to look for the car we had negiotiated. I didn't want to play the "bait and switch" game. The 2013 370z nismo was there matching the same VIN. For sure they can't say "its sold, but we have others you can look at."
We had negiotiated a price over the phone, I didn't want to pay anything over that price. No surprises. Some dealers might charge junk fees...etc processing, document fee, you name it fees.
We went inside meet with the salesman I talked over the phone Erin Sanders. He was very polite and cordial. I also meet his superior Charles Traylor. Very nice also. Erin showed me the vehicle and then we went inside to do the paperwork.
The entire process went very smooth. The numbers were all correct just like what we had discussed. To my surprise there was no surprises. Everything negative from the prior reviews was not practiced here today. The finance manager was a liitle pushy trying to sell the extended warranty. But hey, that was his job. There was some waiting here and there, but the whole process took about 3 hours.

CONCLUSION: I got the nismo a few hundreds below invoice. I drove home last night didnt fall asleep at all because the thrill of driving that vehilce. Lots of bugs on the bumper though, I will have to wash it before I post some pics.
To me that was a great deal and I didn't have to twist any arms. If anyone need a 370z, I recommend to go see Erin Sanders and Charles Traylor at Trophy Nissan in Mesquite, TX.

Thanks again everyone on this forum for your inputs.
