Looking to buy.... Need some guidance please.
Hello to all ..... First post and need your input.
I am new to the current Z (my first car was a 78 280Z) and I am looking to buy a used 2010 Roadster Auto and would like some buying tips.... What to look for? What to avoid... Any model or year? What to check as in problems or issues? I have done several searches but cannot find a clear guide in this purchase. I thank you in advance for any input you can provide. |

09s and some 10s I believe had steering lock issues, not sure when in 10 that got fixed.

There are a few issues on these cars if you search you will find them. Doesn't mean a large percentage have them.
Steering lock failures have occurred. Check the threads for the part number. You can read off the P/N under the steering wheel to determine what series you have in your car. My 2010 roadster has an updated one for example. With roadsters, pay special attention to the top. There are a few pinch points that seem to be wearing on some owners cars. Some fuels gauges don't light up to the full dot easily. We got our 2010 used a year ago. Been 10K trouble free miles so far. - b |

open the roof half way and check the cables for some rubbing/fraying
use your cell phone and snap a pic of the steering lock id number (under the steering column) if it ends with an A you should address that with a new one or the fix you might find on this forum. (or have a dealership look up the model number of the lock based on the VIN of the car) no big issues for me.. love every minute of it. |

I appreciate your responses.... What exactly is the steering lock failure do?
I am looking at a 2010 Roadster Auto with 27,000 miles on the clock from an independent dealer. The car has 2 previous owners which is odd for a 2010 and the dealer is telling me the car is still under factory warranty until December or 36K miles. Does the warranty follow the car or the original owner? If under warranty can this steering issue be fixed by Nissan? Also if vehicle is under warranty can I purchase an extended warranty from Nissan? Sorry for all of the questions... I really appreciate your responses |

If warranty is with vehicle can you go to any dealership and purchase an extended warranty? Thank you! |
