The warranty can transfer actually, probably not under the name for the dealership but whoever buys it next can still have it.

Quote:
12 HOW DO I TRANSFER MY VSC?
This VSC is for the benefit of the Purchaser and applies only to the vehicle listed in this VSC. However, this VSC may be transferred
to subsequent owners of the covered vehicle under the following conditions:
1. The vehicle’s service records are current and indicate that the vehicle was maintained in accordance with Nissan’s
recommendations. In the event service records are not available, NESNA may require the vehicle to be inspected and serviced
at an approved repair facility at the owner’s expense to ensure the vehicle has been properly maintained. If the inspection
and service disclose abnormal vehicle conditions, then the transfer request may be rejected. This determination shall be
within the sole discretion of NESNA.
2. The transfer request is made within thirty (30) days of change in ownership.
3. The transfer information and the appropriate signatures are provided in the Transfer Certificate section of this VSC.
4. A transfer fee of $50 (or as noted in Section 10 of this VSC), payable to NESNA, is included with the transfer request.
Payment may be by check or money order.
A new VSC will be mailed to the subsequent owner after NESNA’s receipt and successful processing of all requested material.

SSJJ, You sure do not drive much in a year. How much was your cars base price? The offer seems reasonable, while you might get more on your own, this sure would be quick and easy.

Or cancel the warranty and get prorated refund. Then sell it. 29K seems like a good price if you don't want your Z anymore.

29K for a base w/ sport sounds like a good deal

29K for touring w/sport is not a good deal IMO

Off the top of my head the car stickered at approxiamately 34800. The car is black on black M6 with Sport Package. Has everything except illuminated kick plates. I have those NIB but have not installed them to date. Have rubber mats over original mats and car still smells new inside. Also covered and never driven in inclimate weather.

I would or could sell warranty with car or cash it in etc. Thanks for the comments.

They generally offer 31-33k here in dallas for base sports up to 10k miles but try getting one any lower than invoice out here... very difficult. I notice on cars.com, Z pricing is very competitive and below invoice deals can be had often.
That said... I would try for $30-31k

$29k is the black book (auction value) that they could pull pretty easily in your area if they just auctioned the car. I would offer them invoice for whatever else you replace the Z with and not a penny more if they want to give you the "auction" value of your car. Otherwise, ask for more ($30k is fair)

Thanks for the tips. LOL at Honda for having anything to replace the Z with. They were close by and I thought it could be conveinent and easy. I was considering a quick sale for reclaiming some additional garage space etc. But I thought 29000 was good but I could do better. Thanks again.

:O with 1344 miles 29k they were trying to steal it from you

you can easily sell for over 30 with that mileage, if you're not in a hurry for the money, throw a for sale sign or list it somewhere and just wait for the right buyer

If you dont mind sharing, why are you selling? It hurts me when someone sells a brand new car like that.

Right now (in my area), dealers are selling used 2011 sports base 370z's < 3k miles for about $30k. You figure they make ~$1k profit, so an offer to buy at $29k is about what'd you'd expect trading it into a dealer.

Of course, you'll make a lot more money if you sell privately so I'd go that route.

I paid $33k for my new 2012 pearl, manual sport package in January 2012. The 2011 model would be a better deal at around $25k-$26K, this is the real amount the dealer paid for the car.

Kelly Blue Book shows the current value of the car to be $35K retail , $30K trade in. Subtract the $35k - $30k = $5k price spread. Now subtract the $5k - $30K trade in vaule = $25k dealer wholesale price. This is the best way to calculate the dealer whole price or cost they paid for the car.

Also take into account you will be able to buy a new 2013 Z with the same package for around $33-$34k shortly and the 2011 model is going to be almost 2 yrs. old shortly and value on a 2010 model equiped the same is only $28k trade in.
