Replaced, not lost. Nissan offers the Z in a different special color each year. My '05 is Ultra Yellow. I think '04 was Liquid Silver. I'd LOVE to see a jade/emerald green!

Since the dealer that was supposed to order my car failed miserably to not only *not* place my order but also never informed me of this until just a few weeks ago, I bailed and am searching high and low for the car that I have been waiting since early March for. Delivery was slated for July 2nd so I'm really feeling this one!
The window for ordering 09 models is closing in a few weeks but I was able to find out more information on the '10 models. Take it with a grain of salt but I personally viewed a document that listed the following for the new model year: Colors available: Silver, Blue, Black, Pearl White, Red. Not sure about Platinum but yellow was definitely missing. The new premium color is Black Cherry (yes!), same as what is offered on the roadster. Leather Options: Black, frost (grey) and persimmons There will be a 40th anniversary package offered for additional cost though. Details were thin, all I could see was special badging and this was tied to the premium color (had to buy them together). The '10 models will arrive in late November. The 40th anniversary (w/Black Cherry paint) will not be orderable until 1/10/2010). I did not see any other changes listed though I would not be surprised to see a few mechanical tweaks (oil cooler maybe? Please??) I asked the dealer what differences in prices were expected and he said that a 2% bump would not be out of the question. How about keeping the price the same in this crappy economy? |

The 2010 are supposed to be available Nov 13. I wonder if the 40th anniversary will get a bump in hp since the car is being released in Jan 2010. The 35th anniversary was also released in Jan after the normal Nov release and it ended up having more hp, but of course the higher hp engine ended being more trouble and was quickly replaced with a better engine.

Green, or "Midori" in Japanese, is in some contexts associated with work for hire. (Translation: prostitution.) In Chinese, green is symbolic of a cuckolded husband. In this country, all the dark green Ford Tauruses that were ever built were sold to single men. (Not necessarily gay -- just single.) Next time you're on the road, check it out. ;P It's funny how this works. White in China is symbolic of death, not life. (For that, you have to go to red.) I think a lot of people could chime in with cultural/regional/ethnic quirks, but the hardest one I've run into all along is the taboo on greens. So while I'd also like to see a jade-colored Z, I doubt the Japanese could bring themselves to producing one. (But there's always Earl Schieb!) |

Funny you should mention this. Talked with my dealer today and they are fighting to get this car. Apparently the dealer in denver doesn't want to let it go but my dealer thinks they will be able to make a deal for a swap tomarrow. So I guess we'll see when they call. I've kind of given up at this point. I've talked to two other dealers and none will do any orderes until end of this week or begining of next. They all state that the 2010 info will be available shortly and that once that info is given then they can place orders for 2010. I've got one dealer that tells me this friday he'll have the info and another dealer telling me they will have the info next wednesday. I've pretty much decided not to stress anymore about trying to get yellow. I spent all weekend and the last two days searching, calling, and doing what I can to try and get this car. Finally today I said to myself stop. If it happens it happens. Since I have peoples lives in my hands I can't afford to be distracted. So as of today I said screw it. If I get a call about a yellow one then cool, if not I'll wait for when I can place an order for a 2010 and get blue. Car buying is supposed to be fun and exciting but this has just turned into one clusterfuck of an experience. I'll keep everyone posted if and when I get any 2010 info, although it seems like Zpoint already got the scoop |

I cant see them getting rid of the Platinum Graphite, I think that has to be or at least one of the top selling colors. I am about a couple days away from just giving up on finding the exact 2009 model. Though being on this site and looking at everyone play with their cars is making me pretty freaking jealous
