Default Custom Ordering a 370Z in Chicagoland - Whats the Mkt Like?

Unfortunately, I've been reading the forum and it appears that in some states, buyers are having a hard time getting dealers to agree to order a custom 370Z, and instead forcing buyers to purchase a 370Z from dealer's inventory.

What's the situation like in Chgo?

Unfortunately, Nissan does not offer European Delivery like BMW or Audi does. I've been considering a BMW 135i as an alternative to a 370Z, and ED is a relatively easy way to custom order the BMW that you want at below invoice pricing (for the most part).

It seems as if Nissan dealers aren't keen on custom orders.

Any thoughts?

I'm actually really interested in this too. I live in Chicago and am patiently waiting as my funds increase before I jump in one of these (or a 10 model...). Nissan's inventory search is turning up nil on Chicagoland dealers and I'd really just love it if I could order my PG Base At Sport from a dealer with no hassel....

When I went to purchase mine I went to Gerald Nissan in Naperville off of RT 34

They had 8 instock at the time touring-nontouring 6spd 7AT they had it all even ones with out sport package and navi

They are the only dealership in Chicago land with that many instock at once but as far as custom ordering one you might be waiting to get it for a while and by then summer will be over and thats not fun

I'm personally trying to get VPP going on here in Chicagoland. Took a few calls to find a place that will actually do it. Hoping to find what we want during the week. Unless anyone knows a dealership that's open today?

I was able to place a factory order at Bill Kay Nissan in Downers Grove. I already knew the one I wanted was not in stock anywhere in the Midwest. So when I went to the dealer and they checked the inventory, they came to the same conclusion. They placed a factory order without trying to sell one of the lot. They also accept VPP. I ordered at the end of April and my car should be here in a month from now. The wait is a pain, but I rather end up having the car exactly the way I want it.

Good to see there are chicago peeps out there. I am in the same boat with ALL of you. I see Gerald has a PG Tour Sport Auto, but I think I am going with the base. Also, Autobarn has a bunch of Z's.......but only a select few have the sport package on it. I am now starting to think I might just wait and get a pre owned S5 or M3, but I am scared of the maintenance cost for those cars. Good luck to you all. Since I was a kid (32 now) the Z has been my dream car, but it seems like all the good ones are in Cali....

Well I know how you feel I went to a dealership that was a little closer to my house and they said the only Pearl White 7AT Sport/Touring/Navi was at Gerald and the closest Pearl White other than that was in Pennsylvania haha

So I took the drive up to Gerald and Picked up the car....... At least I know Im the only one with that set up in this area haha

Didnt really want the Navi but they made it worth my money

Good dealers will place orders for you if you clarify that you're really set on getting your specific wants. You just might need to encourage them a bit; dealers want to sell fast.

Are dealers even taking order still? Isn't it a little late to order a 2009? When are the 2010 supposed to arrive? I can't find a PG Base Auto w/ sport anywhere.........

My dealer said that the order they placed on June 5th would be the last batch for them. Not sure if it is the same for all dealers.
