need some help with loan questions

So I got my VPP pricing and found a dealer who is willing to honor it and order my car the way I want. My next step was to got to penfed and get my loan out of the way since Nissan is only given 6.99% on thier loans. My question is this, my car won't be here for probably 2-4 months so how long with my penfed loan be good for? I mean I don't want to go put the deposit down to order my Z unless I know I can get financed. On the other hand I'm not sure how long my penfed check will be good for once I apply for it. Would it be better to order the car and wait to apply for the loan later? Just not sure how I should proceed.

Lastly, the dealer did find a Z almost exactly how I want it. The only thing is that it has splash guards which I do not want nor want to pay for. On top of that they want 500 to ship the car. On the good side I would have the car by the end of the week. Would it be better to order my car and wait or just get this one, not have to wait, but pay 600 more for the shipping and splash guards? Thanks

i would get it now, why wait 2-4 months.....enjoy the summer with the Z......it's just splash guards

To each their own, but to me, splash guards make the car look better anyway. I'd get it now as long as they flat bed the Z to your location.

I'd get it now for all of the reasons stated plus I would want the splash gaurds. Those splash gaurds can save you some paint chips.

^^ some..lol....they look super tiny

Most bank approvals are good for 30days.

FuszNissan 06-16-2009 02:42 PM

Nissan's buy rate is *Cough* 5.34% *Cough* Teir 0 up to 63 months

fly yellow 06-16-2009 02:45 PM

I got 5.25% for 72 months from Bank of America, and that was with some upside down rollover wrapped in. I didn't know about PenFed, and I don't know if PenFed has that 3.9% rate for 72 months.

Caravanshaka 06-16-2009 02:49 PM

penfed is 4.25% for 72 months, fyi.

fly yellow 06-16-2009 02:53 PM

That's a great rate. I wish i would have found this place before I bought the car.

gatorfast 06-16-2009 03:30 PM

People finance cars for 72 months?!?! Must pay a fortune in interest...

joseZhartford 06-16-2009 03:35 PM

it sucks that u have to be in the military service to join penfed

The Penfed loan is good for 90 days from date of approval. They still offer 3.99% for 60 months.

No, they will still run a credit check just like any other institution. I am not sure what the requirements are for that interest since I went through my personal bank for my loan (my bank beat PenFed).

Your most likely going to be paying roughly around 500+ a month if you want a fully loaded z with **** credit... Even with that 10,000 down payment. I suggest you either find another bank or really try the penfed!
Let me know how your purchase goes!

joseZhartford 06-16-2009 05:29 PM

i was at a local dealership like 10 days ago and aftger they did a credit check they told me that my credit score was too low 500 and i would need a cosigner. cant find nobody yet..thats y im afraid to pay thos 20 dollars to penfed and then they reject the loan
