Default Terrible experience with dealership again

So I posted my story about picking up my car in this thread: Finally after 4 months of waiting

Thought my run-in with this dealership is over as we worked everything out. I was ready to give them a 2nd chance about future services and etc... Went to pick-up the missing options (splash guards) for the car, open the box right there and only found 2 rear pieces. I asked my salesman about the front pieces and he said it only came with 2. I said go check out that other 2 Zs you have out front they all come with four when you order it as an option from the factory. He came back and said if I want to pay for the other 2. I told him no way, it was part of the deal, I ordered it from the factory you guys are the one that mess it up. The business manager came out and basically told me there is nothing he can do, it is not clear on the "Stuff they owe" document if there were 2 or 4 pieces, it just say splash guards. I told him you can't even order as a factory installed option with just 2 pieces. They pretty much told me to get out and get lost. I was real angry and start to ask if this is how they treat all their customers. I said you already tried to screw me on the day I was picking up the car and now again. I start to leave and as I walk out, one of my comment about how I can make an impact on their sale caught their attention. The manager came out as I was entering my car, trying to ask me to go back in again. He went and speak to the GM for a little awhile and said he would call me in an hour to sort this out. He did called me and agree to order the missing pieces. The part I don't get is, I have bought 5 different new cars throughout my life, this is the first time I have any problem with the different dealerships I have been doing business with. It felt like this is a bait and switch operation, they purposely been vague on the documentation and paperwork and try to screw me with that.

Just venting.

I hear you man. Had my fair share of dealer issues and know of many other similar situations from friends and family. Anything they will do for a quick buck. It's rare to find dealer that is looking out for the consumer. The Supporting dealers of this forum are some of the dealers that truely want to help people get good deals and smooth transactions.

+2...... Well I'm glad that these SOB's decided to finally order the other 2 pieces. I do agree with the whole splash guard comment you made. When your building a car it doesn't say 2 or 4 splash guards. The splash guards come in 4....it is like HELLO you stupid piece of sh*t.......GD effen retards.

The only bad experiences I have had at a dealership are from Nissan.

That said I still own 2 nissans. It's amazing how much BETTER Ford and Toyota dealerships I have dealt with seem to be (at least in my area).

I am considering open a formal case of complaint with Nissan USA, not sure how would that make an impact? Anyone knew how the process work?

you can call 1 800 NISSAN1 to open a complaint. Nissan will then email the dealership and try to act as a middle man. Its not usually over-effective, and you should be able to get further dealing with the dealership yourself, but if that didn't work, give it a shot!

Don't forget to register your complaint with your local BBB. Sure, one complaint doesn't carry much weight, but if all dissatisfied customers do it....

That said, it sounds as if you got what you wanted, so there is no remedy needed.

I was hoping more to make them stop the unethical business practice. I am in a small college town, recently we have a huge population rise of a certain group of international students. I guess my appearance fall into the group as well, though i have live here most of my life. What they pull on me would actually work for someone who just arrive here and knew nothing about how dealers and buying a car works. They are making a bad rep for Nissan dealers, would a formal complaint with Nissan make any impact on this front?

Nissan doesnt do much, they call and follow up, but thats all. Much of my business comes our way because of positive online reviews on websites like dealer rater, edmunds, google, etc. I'm sure bad reviews would keep some people away.

Hmmm...No wonder my sales rep tried hard to coerce me to rate the dealership an excellent rating. Its all Show me the money baby!

I know not all dealership practice this and in all fairness to others who really provide excellent service then you truly deserve the business!
