True Car was $39,984, dealer barely budged at $39,604. 0% financing, he knew I wasn't going anywhere. I was fully aware of 2012 inventory dwindling and I wasn't budging on my specifics. Blk/Blk/Nav/Tourging/Sport/Manual no illuminated kick plate though but some overpriced wheel locks LOL. There was only two in the region and one of them didn't have navigation so I bit. I don't regret it though.
I am totally happy. 2013 was not an option for me.

Best quote I've gotten so far is $40.5K (invoice) on MSRP vehicle of just over $44K. It has Nav, which I didn't really need but the particular combination of features and colors isn't as available as much without the Nav. What d'y'all think? (This is a Coupe/AT/Touring/Sport/Nav.)

I finished talking to various sources, gave time for a couple of others to respond (who didn't so I ignored them in the end), and this morning told the dealer I would take the $40,583 deal (MSRP 44,090). So guess things are on the way, pending any potential glitches.
Thanks to all for the input. |

Took me a week to get through the break-in (on the odometer that is, this car was broken in day one technically!) and I LOVE THIS CAR! It's very weird though, getting out of it and driving my truck...

Did the Deed, Made the Deal
Well I got the car. A little twist along the way: I had pinged 3 of the dealers that are supporters of this forum. Turns out that 2 of them located the same car, at a 3rd dealership. After getting the same offer from the two of them, I told the first one that I would like to go ahead and do the deal. Then the dealer that had the car wouldn't let it go. Eventually I discovered who the dealer with the car was and talked to them directly (I would have been happy to buy it through the one I had told "Let's go" but they couldn't deliver due to the 3rd party dealer's obstinance.
Anyway, I ended up getting another $500 off the price. So I got it for $40,083 (500 less than invoice - I have a copy of the invoice) where the MSRP was $44,090. So I think I did OK. I flew down to California (location of the dealers and the car) and picked it up, driving it home to Salt Lake City yesterday and today. I'm happy with it and it is a great pleasure to drive. QUESTION: (maybe belongs on another section but I'm not that familiar with the landscape here yet): At what point do you think the rear spoiler deck and the front underneath "lip" (or whatever that scoop is called that drags bottom on the nose when you go into a driveway) actually have an effect on stability? I don't expect to do any race or performance driving, and I"m wondering how much I need those. At least I'd like to dump that scoop under the nose. |

Finally I got my 2011 NISMO Z® from a local dealer. Its a slightly used and I paid only $34150 which is good enough for me. Actually I replaced it with my 2009 GT-R base and had a great deal. I sold out my GT-R for $44560 and saved about $10000 which is pleasant for me to have a new ride without spending more.

Well....... Welcome & congrats on your purchase. Glad to see that you decided to stay in the Nissan family. What made you decide to trade in your '09 GT-R? What would you say that you did & didn't like about it? |

I can see heavy on the budget w/o a doubt, but the Nismo being more economical maybe. It is all how you drive big guy. You had a great car & you still have a great car.
