Hassle free negoitations

Just thought I would share a couple of thoughts from my buying experience that might be useful for folks thinking about getting a new Z.

I checked out the pricing from True Car as a bench mark, and with just a couple of calls managed to get offers that were below the 'Great Price'.

I felt good about that, however a colleague got me on to Costco. The dealer I selected came back with a price $800 below that.
If you are not comfortable with negoitating for $55 you could save two grand.
(afaik: AAA is offering something similar for their members)

Best part is, you are still able to use the sweet 0% for 60 months Nissan is offering (for another 2 weeks).

Base w/ sports [R01]
[L92] Floor Mats
[L94] Trunk Mats
[B92] Splash guards.
MSRP $36,165
True Car 'Great Price' $33,906 (for my zip)
Invoice $33,831 (again according to True Car)
Paid $32,233

Hope this helps.

PS. I could have got a better price if I had played the game as one particular dealer was calling me and promised to beat that price, but I had given my word that I was set on the deal I had struck and would be back to honour it. (I was going to take the wife out to dinner, and had done all this on the way home from work, so took a time-out).
Besides, I prefer the dealer I went with, while the other gets terrible reviews.

how does it work? costco has some sort of set price they can get for you? Is it similar to the programs that large employers offer?

I am in the same boat as you. Want a base w/ Sport, 6spd. I'd like to know if buying now at 0% would be cheaper than waiting til the 2013's come out and try and get a leftover. I would be able to finance at 1.9% through my company. I was originally looking for a 10-11' but don't think I can pass up brand new when they aren't that much more.

Got my 40th anniversary thru Costco a long time ago. And yes, you can combine it virtually with other promotions. I was able to combine my company's incentive and Costco's offer.

Other than that, here's a look between 2009-2012 vs. 2013

I have mixed feelings on the 2013, I like the color and wheels, but I'm not sure about the front. I am set on the 2012's look though. I just don't know how much the 2012's will go down in price once they start shipping the 2013's. So do I pull the trigger now or try and wait them out???

The color & front is cool, but the wheel not a fan of really.

I have a feeling these wheels are not photogenic. I have a feeling they look amazing in person. I could be wrong though.

That 1.9% is pretty good from your employer. But you would still need to get ~$1600 knocked off the price I got (based on my car, nothing down and CA TTL rates) to have the same payment. That would be $30.7 which is $3k below invoice. Definitely possible but not a certainty.

Or you could enjoy a new '12 now :driving:

Big step down. They don't look classic at all. How many wheels have a twisted spoke look out there that makes you go 'oh yeah'?

I have a hard time thinking about any wheel with that style...

I know I'm going to like the 2013 later. I've always hated every redesign/refresh at frist, and then I realize later that it makes the older one look dated. I'm already starting to warm up to it...
