Well just read this great thread with soda and popcorn. I tend not to read 10 pages plus on the first reading.....but the OP and the community helping with advise had me on the edge of the seat. I can 't believe I read the whole thing.
Congrats on the car you really wanted from the start, funny how the carrot can be tempting when waived a certain way. My two cents.......take ya back to March 2009. Purchased 2 370Z's in one day because I could not decide on one color - red or pg.....j/k. The bro and myself bought ours the same day. Ok the red sport touring was not be found in our region. Could wait for a container docking from across the pond at port of Los Angeles or wait for one that was located in Chicago. Which was out of our region. Took the Chicago car but was snagged first from Portland Oregon dealer. Paid the extra 1k because dealer would not take a trade.....all ok because Calif sales tax was going up in April and would pay the same if we took the car from L.A. because it would not get here in time. So had transported by truck for 1k which was a wash. Got what we wanted. Sometimes you have to pay to get what you really want. Congrats Sara!! |
Congrats Sara, glad you got what you wanted! Make sure to break her in properly :)

transport is $945....OUCH. |
Damn 945$. I would've drove that myself. Couple full tanks and still have left over for a CAI.
|
Wow.........almost 1k for transport? I would have taken the drive myself. In fact, that is what I did, lol!
|
im definitely not saying that $945 doesnt suck. because it does...but honestly its kinda a convenience thing...first of all i forgot to ask exactly where it is coming from but lets just say its coming from boston. thats a plane ticket there and 900 miles back (15+ hours). i would be taking my dad along and neither of us are willing to miss any work so if anything got delayed/held up whatsoever it might not all get done in one weekend. the dealer said he is willing to take the 945 out of my down or factor it into the 60 months, which is about 15 bucks more a month. so in the big picture i dont really care but yeah thats definitely a lot

Do what you have to do. As I stated earlier in this thread that I paid an even $1k for my car to be shipped. In the end it was well worth it & it is only money. Remember money will always come & go.

I live south of Boston, I had my car delivered to me from Virginia, about a 7 and a half hour trip but I convinced the dealer to drive it themselves to me, and they drove my trade in (350Z) back... If you are a good negotiator perhaps you can do a similar deal... Even if you say forget the $500 off and just deliver it to me and take my trade in for the drive back they might be willing... expensive sports cars aren't selling like hot cakes in today's economy so be hard on them. G/L.

I'm not trading though:/
