Persimmon discontinued?
 

Just got back from the dealer that told me that he could no longer order persimmon. He said he tried to do so last week and in the ordering system that option was greyed out. He said he called and was told there was an issue.....he was kind of vague but muttered something about maybe there was a problem with the color or fabric????? I don't think he really knew.

Can anyone confirm this? A salesperson who is reading this for instance???

I have asked my local dealer (different than the one I was at earlier today) to verify but wondering if anyone else has run into this.

I was kind of told the same thing back in April. When the salesman asked me what interior I wanted, I told him the black one. He sighed heavily along with the sales manager. I asked what was going on and was told that there is some "issues" with the persimmon interior. That Nissan is having some kind of problem (s) with it. That's as far as I took it with these two guys since it wasn't the interior I wanted anyways.

Hmmm.....

That is the interior I want so I will stay tuned to hear what the problem is

hmm.. my dealer told me today that he put my order in with no problems. Pearl with persimmon interior.

I am still able to add Persimmon on the NissanUsa website. If there's any changes, the main website (NissanUsa) should reflect the change. Are you ordering the 2010 model? if that's the case, then Persimmon was a special first year color (which I highly doubt)

This is what I did: Go to nissan/usa/370z choose build your 370z, at the end, choose find a dealer, then look through your local dealers invetory, then choose find another dealer, then another, then another, then when you run out, choose a different zip code in a town 100 miles away from you and start the process all over. I did this intermittently for 3 months. I was almost ready to give in and buy a Camaro, but they were asking 45k for them becuase of the limited availability. Finally, in early May, I found a dealer with black/persimmon that was 120 miles from me... and in SoCal, that is like 50 dealers away. On the local dealer's website, it was listed as Black/grey. I called. They said, no, it's black and grey. I asked the guy to go look in person. He came back and said.... "hmmm. It is persimmon." I drove down that afternoon and bought it.

Update:

I called "my" dealer. He said that he could order it still and that the other dealer was wrong.

HOWEVER, he said that I had to do so by Monday as that was the last day to order '09's.
Now I am not sure what to do....I would rather just wait for 2010 since it will be 3 months before I get the car anyway and that gives me the benefit of a new model year (resale etc). But, nobody can guarantee that persimmon will be available in 2010.....

So much bad, wrong, misrepresented information out there....

More thoughts or information?

PHIMOSIS: I have done that as well....but the dealer can look for me all over the US and has not come up with a single PG or White with Persimmon. I am pretty sure he can see what everyone has already....

AK370Z: I know it still shows it, but if there were a problem with it, I don't think that Nissan would want to broadcast it on thier website. Rather, have the handful of people that want that color find out when they go to the dealer. Keeps the bad PR down. (Just my thoughts).

Last month i ordered PG and Persimmon because dealer could only find 2 cars, one in FL and the other in TN.

Problem with Persimmon?

Anyone got the color and ran into a "problem"? What kind of problem are we looking for?
