Problems getting callbacks
Has anyone had problems getting dealers to call them back? Last Tuesday I visited a local dealership that received rave reviews from another Z forum and had them do a locate on a solid red 370 with the sport package. He quoted me $30,960 for the car, but unable to actually contact the dealer while I was there I left him to it.
The next morning I called him up and told him I would take the car and was willing to put a deposit on it. Unfortunately, after a couple of hours he called back to tell me that the car had already been sold and that he would start looking for another. Having heard nothing from him I dropped by Friday afternoon to see if he had gotten anywhere he reported to me that he had not found a car yet, but when I sat down at his desk we started calling dealers and got no good responses. I ended up searching on my own when he didn't call back and tracked down two cars that match my requirements in the St. Louis metro area. (Neither of those dealers have called me back thus far) I called the local salesman up last night before closing to see if he had found anything yet and I told him I had found the car for me at St. Charles Auto in St. Louis. He took their number and called back within a half hour to tell me he had found the car for me! $33,960. Today I've tried to get in contact with St. Charles Auto again and the salesman I spoke with yesterday promised me a call back that was never returned, and has since stopped answering his phone. Am I crazy or are these salesmen? In the past I've had to fight salesmen off with a stick when I expressed a little interest in a car, but even after telling them I have a blank check in my hand they don't seem to want to call back now. tl;dr: What does it take to buy a 370Z nowadays? |

Nissan just finished up their "Tent Sale" pushing Maximas, Altimas, Rogues and Muranos. Z's probably weren't on the priority list. You may find yourself getting callbacks this week.
FWIW, I was in Boardwalk Nissan (supporting dealer located in CA) on Friday and they have a Solid Red base + Sport 6MT. Mike's pricing is more than fair. mweiland@bwalkauto.com Last edited by NRGSwing; 06-02-2009 at 07:11 PM. |

the "Tent Sale" definetly hurt nissan on selling other cars besides what was in the sale. I had a lot of bad expierences during that week including being told to "f*ck off" literally.
I went to 5 dealerships, got three on the phone in CA, and even Mike, our sponsered Dealership here on this website. NONE OF THEM bothered to contact me back. the closest I got with making a deal was with Mike with boardwalk nissan, a sponsor here on the370z. I was ready to sign everything and order it w/ 20 grand to put down. but after 10 or so emails back and forth, mike suddenly stopped talking to me - even after I called him and told him to email me back cuz I was ready to buy. hang in there, it'll happen, just monday I finally got my Z ordered locally and I also got the price I was working for. It'll happen. |

Don't like Mike!
i had a bad experience 3 months ago with Mike from Boardwalk. He's a nice, funny guy and all, but the problem was that i ordered the Z with him and it never came! i had patiently waited for three months when it was time to check on the ETA, he finally emails me back after a couple of days of emailing and leaving him phone messages that my order was not fulfilled due to production cutbacks from Nissan.
I was beyond pist and was wondering why he never followed up on my order and just reorder it the next month. He never bothered to contact me and he said he was very sorry and will try to fine the Z i wanted asap within the US. A couple weeks have past and i still haven't heard from him. Luckily i had found a couple dealers now that have good deals and i might even order the 2010 model. |

I started getting some emails from the one dealer in the area that I don't really want to deal with. They sold me my first 350 used and I felt like they pulled some shady **** with the FI guy after the car was sold. I took it when I should have walked (I got a great deal anyway) and started getting my service done at another dealer.
