Default 2012 Gun Metallic (Touring/Sport/Navigation/Manual)

I've been trying to deal with a few dealerships in Florida with no luck. I'm trying to locate a 2012 Gun Metallic 370z, with the touring/sport/navigation packages, and a manual transmission. I was told by a few members that Deland Nissan was a good dealership to speak with. I sent their internet sales manager an email for 500 below invoice, but they said that was not possible and want $40,349.00 (with an invoice of $39,249).

I've emailed a few other dealerships in the area as well with no luck yet, does anyone have any suggestions on other dealerships to try within Florida? Thanks!

Did you try using truecar.com to get a better price?

I got another dealership down to 40k, but wouldn't budge lower. I guess I'll just keep trying!

Your around invoice. Another 2k-3k off is possible depending on negotiation skills.

I think my biggest issue is they have to get the car from out of state. Some say 40-41k, and some won't even want to discuss it saying they would have to get it out of state and there's no incentive for them to do so.

I guess my only response is to have them contact me if they can? Not sure what else to say. I guess I have to play the waiting game, and see if they email me back in a week or two.

I have everything you want except for Nav and I paid 39,500 OTD. I have a rearview back-up camera as well.

Its the median price between MSRP and invoice... its a rough time of year for haggling. And car sales are skyrocketing again. In reality, if you are lucky? $500 over invoice or wait another 3months when they are desperate to sell again. You might be able to get huge discounts on a base manual. But sport pkgs n nav pkgs make money this time of year.

The best thing you can do now that I think about it is make 2 dealerships fight for your business... you might end up below invoice.

Yes, thats a big issue. Dealerships like to negotiate on cars that they have on their lot already. If you locate a dealership that has a 370z with everything you want, and you are going to do a trade-in, work with that. Try to get the most out of your trade-in, and then negotiate the price. Something dealerships dont tell you is that when you make a trade-in, whatever that the trade-in is valued, that amount is subtracted to the new vehicle price and you only pay taxes for that amount. So lets say the 370z is 40k - 10k(trade-in) so you only pay $1,950.00 instead of 2,600.00. That's $650.00 that you can knock off from you negotiation easily.

Good luck on your purchase, im looking to sell my Evo X and getting myself a 370z as well with the same options

So currently as it stands, I'm told invoice is 39,511 and they're willing to do 1000 under (38,511) and that was their best offer. So I went ahead and asked for an estimate on my current car (2009 VW GLI with 49k miles: kbb says 14.7, truecar says 15k) and first was given an estimate of 13.5k. After some back and forth emails, I got my trade in to 14k but I still don't think this is working out in my favor? Their reasoning for not going any higher is because they're not making any money on the Z (2.8% of the invoice is 1106.30, which they said I'm taking 1000 out of), and they have to make their money back on my trade in. But.. then I'm totally thrown off by how some of you got 2-3k under invoice, because that would mean they are losing money? Something here seems wrong, can someone clue me in :P

Also at 38,511 + tax (6.5%) would be somewhere around 41k. From looking at the "what did you pay" I feel really discouraged doing this deal until I remember it's at 0% APR.. which kind of equals it out in a way... right?

Sounds good to me. You're $1000 under invoice, and only $700 off kbb. Not sure where the issue is? They're basically break-even on the sale and will pocket whatever they can get above the $14 on your trade. A dealership has to make money. In fact, you want them to make money so they're there when you need them. Sounds like a more than fair deal for you.

*And FWIW, I don't necessarily believe the '$3000 under invoice' deals people claim to get. I think a lot of times there is something else in the deal we don't know about. Figure a dealer's cost after the holdback is somewhere $800-$1000 under invoice. Maybe a few hundred less if there are some special incentives available from Nissan. It's ridiculous for them to take a loss in the thousands of $$ just to move a car. As a salesman myself, I'd never intentionally take a loss on a sale - no reason to. I can always say no to the deal.

If you work for one of these companies or in the military you can get below invoice via the Nissan Purchase Program (VPP).
Take a look to see if you qualify...
I did - and was able to get my 2012 Nismo

Yeah that does make sense, their trade in value could have been lower to compensate. Thanks for the info

Unfortunately I'm not apart of any company that offers VPP :\ We even get contracts through the DoD! Thanks though

I think I will go with this deal, just waiting for a breakdown of prices to be emailed to me so I can make sure everything lines up with where I have them at. Thanks everyone for the help.

Theres a special bonus for over sea active duty military people. My friend got a new 2012 mustang for 19k. I dont know what package he got but if he got the lowest he saved like 4k atleast. I think he said the car was initially 33k and he got it for 19k but i doubt that.

Welp.. No go. Turns out we were too late in making a deal and the car already is on it's way to their sister company. I asked for a new pricing breakdown with the transfer cost and it turned out to be 1000 below invoice + 600$ to transfer the car + 680$ for a dealer fee (thought this was removed) and then 1.5k below my KBB value. Originally I thought we were discussing zero dealer fee, below invoice, and that was why my trade in was valued where it was. To get it transferred + a dealer fee is 1280 more than I was expecting.

Oh well..
