Canadian factory rebate on 2012 Z

Noticed yesterday that Nisan has put up a $3000 factory rebate on 2012 Z.
At least on the west coast. Just ordered in Feb and now my dealer is getting me the rebate!

Sounds like smoke & mirrors to me.

Well I ended up at $750.00 over invoice already agreed and signed to.
Now I call back and they are taking $3000.00 more off of that price.
I'm not complaining! :driving:

Damn thats really good. I'm pretty sure there has not been any rebate on the 370z in the U.S. The 370z isn't really a car they would discount like the GTR but I guess it happens in the mystical land of Canadia.

Perhaps this is in lieu of the 0% financing being offered in the US which doesn't appear to be offered here. (several Nissans are but not the 370)

Cars here are advertised as one price with 0% and a lower "cash" price, effectively meaning you are paying interest anywhere from 5 to 7% if you finance. My neighbour is an F & I guy at a Dodge dealership and he said yup, there really is no such thing as 0%.
Is this typical in the US as well?

Can you tell us which model, options, m.s.r.p. and what was the price with destination, everything included EXCEPT taxes. That would make it much easier to understand & compare. Canadian$$$ ? American$$$ ?
Thanks
