Nismo in Monterey?
Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but a friend recently told me he spoke with a dealer that told him they could special order the nismo in Monterey Blue directly from Nissan?
Just curious if anyone, specifically dealers on the forum, have heard anything about this or if the salesman was just clueless. Reason I ask is I love the lines of the nismo and I can't lie I kinda like the prestige of the fact that it's a special edition numbered model but I'm hell bent on the monterey. |

Monterey Blue isn't a color option for the Nismo, if I'm right. Unless they changed that for the 2012 models. It would def be a special order....that's for sure.
Or....just buy a Monterey Blue Z and add the Nismo body kit: Seems its just missing the Nismo rear wing.

Have you priced out the cost of how much it is to order not only the bumper covers but all the supports and under shields needed to make it fit? Someone on here made a parts list I read a while back and almost fainted. It may be cheeper to just order a Nismo and have the whole car repainted.

I considered repainting my Monterey Blue Z last year and was told it would be between $10K - $13K to get it done. I could have just been getting the scam treatment but I was told this from what I consider to be a rather legit and honest body shop in my local area.

Thats my car in the video. I, also, was HELL bent on a BLUE Nismo Z, but they do not offer one in that color! So I determined I would get a Base Z in blue and mod it like a Nismo and better. I already knew it would cost $10,000+ to repaint a Nismo Z, and I thought that was SILLY on a brand new car.
If you want one in Blue, you are much better off going the route I went, and you can mod it as you see fit too. The only thing I am missing is the rear wing, and I was thinking of getting the Seibon rear replica, as the Nissan one is $2,500 unpainted/uninstalled. ($600 for the replica) Remember the Nismo gets is +18 HP from an exhaust and tune. You can do better than that with aftermarket stuff.

So the responses verify what I already believed but I figured it was worth asking incase there was a way. Guess it's back to my original route of ordering a base/sports with an s-tune.
And Tjlazer I absolutely love your car. |

Don't believe anything a dealer tells you. BTW I love Tjlazers Z. That Nismo kit looks really good. I would really like to get the Nismo kit on my Z.
