Bad deal
I just bought one, Sport Touring with nav from a dealer recertified for $28,400, I didn't get the deal of the century, but I assure you this isn't a good deal either

i talked with 2 other dealers, the one closest to me just told me that they probly couldnt even get one, wich i thought was odd and the other one i talked to was right at closing time but it was a black cherry touring, and was told that i could get it for invoice. i'm not sure what the invoice on a base is but it cant be to much more than 29000. i also came across this one if i feel the need to travel a bit,....much better deal i feel and the color i want.............. Remember to deduct the price range from the very good conditon trade in value, this will give you the true value the dealer paid for the car when he took in it trade.
Example $10k retail $8k trade in value Subtract the price range or number spread, which is $10k - $8k = $2k (range or number spread). Now take the $8k trade in value minus the $2k price range and it equals to $6k actual dealer wholesale cost. In this example the dealer paid $6K for the car a fair offer would be $6,500 -$7000 Another thing to remember is that dealers do at time of resale is detail the car, steam clean the engine bay, change the oil and apply tire black or dressing to the wheels, check engine for errors etc. and a safety check. They do as little as possible and try and sell you on their BS 500 point certified used car detailing and certifying. That they will tell you costs them around $2k per used car. Most dealers are not fools and will fix anything that is really badly worn or dangerous. I remember going with a friend to a mazda dealer that was selling 80's rx7, one of these 500 point certified cars and it had dents all over it, tires were dry rotted , interior faded and they had the balls to try an charge my friend $2000 over retail for this POS. I had to physically drag my friend out of there as he was in love with the car and bought the dealers BS. I was shocked to find out a few days later that he actually went down the next day with his parents and bought the car. Needless to say with in the next 6 months he needed new tires, complete exhaust system and a completley new clutch assembly, even the slave unit. So it is true that a SUCKER IS BORN EVERY SECOND, look at a car dealership, when you drive up, all the salesman waiting like packs of lions to eat you. And even when you sign the deal, you have the dealers finance manager trying to sell you extended waranties, paint treatments , alarms and even undercoating in some states. i was a car salesman before and your exactly right, a used car on average is marked up atleast 4 grand on average. and if they can get you say 5% on the loan they will tell you 7% and if you agree that 2% goes in there pocket. and say you would want a 400/m payment, they bump you to a 410/m but once you get to finace they will say oh looks like i can get you 400/m but would you like to add xxx warrenty for 410/m? dealers are crooked.....i was goin to plan on offering them 25k for the car, but wasnt sure if that was alil to extreme or reasonable

Finacing rates can also be negociated with Nissan Finance company, if they offer 3% for 24 months and 4.8% for 48 months. All it takes is the finance manager to call nissan finance company and tell them that the only way the customer will sign the deal is if he gets 3% for 48 months and I got it in the end.
You have to realize that if you deal with the managers and not the low level flunkies, that anything in the world is open to negociation. |

$31.5 k would actually be even taking away the dealer hold back, dealer is making no money on this deal, unless nissan is giving undisclosed rebates to the dealer.

I was making a deal on a 2011 as the 2012 didn't hit the dealership yet. I told them I only wanted black or gunmetal. They couldn't find me one, finally they called me few days later (found out I got the first US 2012) and would honor same pricing. I was stoked.
