Advice: Wait for 2012 or 2011 now
I ordered a 2012 base, auto with sports in mid November. I was told the latest it will get here is mid March. Just got a call from my dealer and said he can only get it here in early May. Apparently he left out the detail about his allocation when I ordered it and only updated me after 2 months of waiting. I did found a new 2011 touring with the same option at another dealer.
I think I have 3 options. 1) Work with the current dealer to get the 2011 here, price has to be right though 2) Ask for refund on the deposit and go to the other dealer with the 2011 3) Wait for my 2012 till May What do you think? Any advice on a good OTD price for a new 2011 touring, auto with sports? |

Well if its just a matter of waiting, and if you can hold on and patiently wait for the 2012, I would say hold off and wait. However, by the look of your post it seems like you want it now!
If that is the case, I would pick option 1) if you feel comfortable dealing with the same dealership 2) if you are not sure about the reliability of the dealership as they only gave you a heads up 2 months after you had ordered For a new 2011 base, sport, touring, anywhere in the 33k-35k OTD should be a good price. I got my base 2011 in July of 2011 for 36kOTD, I could have done better but at the time, when Z shortage was there, I was lucky to even get one. |

Waiting has been tough, it is winter right now, was hoping to get it right when spring starts. Not sure how good a deal I would be able to get on the 2011, thinking about depreciation of the car with the additional year. It maybe better to wait.
I think we need a therapy session for everyone who is waiting for their car to arrive. |

Off topic, but what are the updates for the 2012 model over the previous model? I'd wait personally....
On a further note, what are the main differences between 09 and 10 models? |

The only difference I know of for 2012 is the oil cooler.
2010 had heated mirrors, in-cabin micro filter, bluetooth streaming audio (navi only), Black Cherry instead of Chicane Yellow. 2011 got rear view camera (navi), Gun Metallic.

And yes, depreciation is a big factor, as it is 2012. So you may we want to stick it out and just wait for may then. |

I'd threaten to take your deposit back.. If they start to give you ****, threaten them back by telling them ,you will contact Nissian of America.
Now this might speed things up.. or not...? NOA is who they are getting your car from. NOA (Nissia Of American) can also probaly locate the options you want with another dealer.. or you might be able to purchase the car from NOA.. however you might have to pick up the car at your local port which might not be so close to you.. just my

So I decided to wait. The 2011 has been sitting at the dealership for about a year, probably got a lot of abuse with all the test drives. My dealer is throwing in a little extra (free oil changes for 3 year) because of the delay, not much but at least he shows his appreciation of me sticking with him. Let's hope it gets here on time.
Now I just need to find something to distract me for the next 3.5 month. |
