What are you paying for the 2012's?

Hey guys! I'm planing on joining the Z family in the near future and am set on buying a 2012 base + sport. I was just wondering what people are paying for the car before taxes and also otd. The last thing I want is to walk into a dealership and be taken advantage of because I wasn't prepared. Plus I was able to control my impulsiveness and not make my purchase during the summer since I thought I would have more bargaining power during the colder months...so its time for my reward :D Thanks. I appreciate it.

You should be able to come in smartly under invoice pricing on any 2012 Z. Don't let the dealers take you for a ride. You can probably do $1k under invoice or better in some areas.

I paid 39,500 OTD for mine. I have a GM Touring+Sport with mats/trunk mats/illum kick plates, rear view back-up camera.

I emailed a few local Nissan dealers' internet sales people directly basically saying what I wanted for a 2012 and listed the invoice price and MSRP (from Zag). They called me within half an hour of sending that email offering invoice price (without any negotiation) on whatever configuration 2012 model I wanted to order ($500 deposit was all that was required). So you should be able to get invoice price at least, if not better. As far as OTD price, the only additional fees on top of the car price any place quoted me were documentation fees at around $120-140.

The sales person told me they were getting ready to order their Spring inventory of 370z's soon. So I imagine it's easy to add another car to the order with a specific trim they know is going to sell and they get the dealer hold back as profit on it even if it sells at invoice or a bit lower.

I ended up buying a 2011 model at another dealer for a nice discount, but that invoice price quote on a 2012 helped me negotiate down the price on the 2011 quite a bit!

I called AAA's automotive division, and they got me a 2012 for $300 under invoice

You should be somewhere around invoice. I think you'll hear a lot of dealers tell you that it's a 'premium car' and you have to pay list. That's BS.

One dealer told me that exact line on the phone after another dealer had offered me invoice...he said it was a 'niche' car and I'd have to pay sticker for it. Wouldn't believe me when I told him another dealer offered me invoice...

Yeah it's all a game to them, and they're willing to take it to the end. I bought a mustang last weekend, but the salesmen literally told me that anyone who beats his price "is lying to get you in the door and force a car on you". I dropped him and spoke to another salesmen at the same dealership and they immediately countered what their competitor offered.

Stupid...

Picked up my 2012 Base + sport MT for $32,842.00. OTD price was $35,005.00. Ordered from the factory.
