Nissan Luxcare
Hello to everyone. I recently purchased a new PG 370z Base + sport over the weekend. The dealer was selling me a Luxcare Protection for my car. I purchased it but I'm having second thoughts from my friends. Does this stuff any good? I'm thinking of asking for a credit towards parts.

It's environmental protection for the interior & exterior of your car. It provides protection for exterior paint surfaces and interior fabic, carpet, leather and vinyl surfaces. They also provide a 5-year limited warranty against damage from acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, insect, oxidation and weather fading.

Sounds like something you can do yourself with some wax and a can of scotchgaurd. I never buy any dealer extras. My dealer automatically slapped Lojack in the car and wanted a thousand bucks for it. I told them take it out or just give it to me. They gave it to me.

The warranty is worth it. If they would have given you the paint and fabric coating with out the warranty it wouldn't be worth it. Even if it was for free. The product with warranty probably costs 200. It is like insurance, you pay for it, but you may never use, but when you do, your glad you paid for it.

My general rule of thumb is never buy any of that crap they try to sell you, the only thing of real value is the wheel and tire warranty, which can be negotiated to about $300.

I picked up the car last night and it looked great. The exterior protection gave the car a nice shiny look and the car felt really soft to the touch like a baby's bottom. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and only time will time with the warranty whether if was worth the money!

I would read the warranty details on the paint before deciding, because 500 for 5 years is a steal if it gives good coverage, especially with the new paints being abysmally weak to the elements these days.
