Nissan Luxcare

Hello to everyone. I recently purchased a new PG 370z Base + sport over the weekend. The dealer was selling me a Luxcare Protection for my car. I purchased it but I'm having second thoughts from my friends. Does this stuff any good? I'm thinking of asking for a credit towards parts.

What is it? Paint and Fabric protection?
Does it come with a warranty?
What do they cover with the warranty?
Just things to ask yourself

It's environmental protection for the interior & exterior of your car. It provides protection for exterior paint surfaces and interior fabic, carpet, leather and vinyl surfaces. They also provide a 5-year limited warranty against damage from acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, insect, oxidation and weather fading.

How much did you pay for it?

Sounds like something you can do yourself with some wax and a can of scotchgaurd. I never buy any dealer extras. My dealer automatically slapped Lojack in the car and wanted a thousand bucks for it. I told them take it out or just give it to me. They gave it to me.

I paid $498 for it. I guess I'm paying for the warranty as well as the service. Yeah, I could have done it myself & save a few bucks. I'll found out if it was worth it when I try to get warranty work done!

The warranty is worth it. If they would have given you the paint and fabric coating with out the warranty it wouldn't be worth it. Even if it was for free. The product with warranty probably costs 200. It is like insurance, you pay for it, but you may never use, but when you do, your glad you paid for it.

My general rule of thumb is never buy any of that crap they try to sell you, the only thing of real value is the wheel and tire warranty, which can be negotiated to about $300.

I think having them take care of bird poop that eats through the clear coat is pretty nice, I may not know the limits of the protection though.

THanks for your comments. I dropped the car off tonight to have it done. I'll let you know tomorrow:happydance: how it looks!

I picked up the car last night and it looked great. The exterior protection gave the car a nice shiny look and the car felt really soft to the touch like a baby's bottom. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and only time will time with the warranty whether if was worth the money!

I would read the warranty details on the paint before deciding, because 500 for 5 years is a steal if it gives good coverage, especially with the new paints being abysmally weak to the elements these days.
