Default nismo pricing question

Hi all,

Trying to get into a 2011 nismo in pearl white. The dealer is pricing the car at 38,900 +++ Invoice is around 39900 with options included in the car. It feels like the white ones on the east coast are pretty scare right now and wondering if I should save myself the stress and take the offer. I countered of course but they seemed sure that they'd never go that low. It's been a few weeks since I started looking and I'm getting kind of burned out. My hopes are that they come to around 38 for the car, should I wait it out till the end of the month and expect them to call? Or take my chances and hope to get a 2012 at around this price anyway...

Thanks

Nice, going for the Nismo. I'm sure dealerships see the Nismo as their highest margin selling car. Only a few on dealer lots, sometimes not at all. So if they're going to sell a Nismo, they're going to either get their price or sell at a slight discount. Those cars will always run over 40k with taxes and fees plus the costs of financing (in California). My advice, do the best you can getting them down to a price you feel most comfortable. It's not an easy car to negotiate. Now if you were looking for a base model, piece of cake. They have plenty of those. A base model with sports package, a bit easier but they have a stronger stance. Now the Nismo... they know not too many dealers will have them on their lots, and know that if you're interested in a Nismo, you are a serious about the 370z. If I were to buy the Nismo here in Cali, after taxes/fees, I'd expect to at least pay around 42k. Always in their show room too... good luck, let us know what happens.

I personally think it's a high price but then again, I'm not trying to buy one right now so... Have you emailed all the interet sales managers at all the dealerships in and around your area with the specs of the car you'd like and asked them to provide an otd price quote etc? At least that way, you'll know if this particular dealer is or isn't totally ripping you off.

Also, there are dealers on this forum (sponsors) that could probably help you out as well if you pm them.

IMO, if you are really wanting a Nismo, you almost have to be willing to travel out of state to get the best deal. I'm currently in Texas, and had mine shipped in from Tennessee when I bought it. Sometimes dealers just don't want to budge on the price, especially with Nismo's. I think you can buy a 2012 for that price, or close to it. How many miles on the car? Seems to be a couple grand overpriced.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've tried to use the usaa pricing tool to find out about local dealers. I've tried to contact several but no one has the car and everyone keeps trying to tell me to build a 2012.

One dealership said they can get it but right off the bat offered 41k+++ since it wasn't already in their inventory and had to spend money to go get it. I actually live in Maryland and these dealerships are located in florida, I plan to fly down then drive the car back (will be there for the holidays.)

The car is new with 2 miles on it last time we inquired a few days ago, it's in the showroom and couldn't even test drive. I would test drive when I'm down there though. I'm more comfortable with their price now, still try to get a little lower but I think I know I'm not being way overpriced at this point.

If you can get a 2012. It has a oil cooler over the 09-11 models.

If you are going to get a aftermarket oilcooler than look for a 09-11. 39k for a year old model is over priced. I bought mine at 37,xxx so if you can get it a few thousand less for a 2011 model then jump on it. If you can't just go for a 2012 but make sure you get it at invoice or lower.

I suggest to go with a 2012 also, later for resale value etc, it is 1 year newer. Try truecar or american express zag (same company).

2011 for 38899 fell through, I kept trying to go lower and the guys just didn't budge. Gave a local dealer a shot who actually located a 2012 for me for the same price as the guys trying to sell me the 2011.
Right now I'm waiting on the dealer to get the car from another place in PA, crossing my fingers that they can get it...

Just picked up my 2012 last Wed. I was happy to get into a 2012 1000 below invoice. Very happy considering the car I was looking at in Florida was offering a 2011 for invoice. Very happy, pearl white.

Thanks. No additional options other than floor mats and trunk mat. And I'm fine with that, ending up saving a lot more without the kick plates and rear view camera which I wasn't all that pressed over getting anyway.
