I just ordered my Z today.. some thoughts..

just ordered z370 kad color, Mt sport pack, I was reading at the forum that the new Z comes with standard oil cooler and instead of 6 disk changer it will be with an hard drive.

now, the isuee is that the supplier got the car about 2-3 months ago and due to regeltions i asked the car to be released in 01/12 so it will consider as 2012car.

how can i tell if the oil cooler comes with the car? i know the stereo comes with the 6 disk changer, does all new Z comes with hardrive? do you think that a car that is not runing for some months can go worng on something ?

by the way.. the Z cost in Israel 101,000$ so be happy that your govrement is not charging from you so many taxes!!

Thanks for any replay ..eZ

.........just because the car is released in 2012, does not make it a 2012. it will only have an oil cooler if Nissan BUILT it as a 2012.

congratz though

that's sound logical, can you tell from the attached picture the production date?

the VIN is different from an American VIN. normally the 8th to last character is the year, 2011 = B 2012 = C, but yours has a U, so I cant

sorry dude

I tried a decoder and that what i have got :

Result of VIN decoding process (No guarantee)
Error: checksum (5)

VIN: JN1GAAZ34U0
Checksum: 8

WMI: JN1
VDS: GAAZ34
VIS: U0400864

Manufacturer: Datsun, Nissan
Country (Region): Japan (Asia)
Model year: ?
Fewer than 500 per year: NO
Sequential number: 400864

like you see no model year.

My guess (and just a guess) is that if the supplier got the car 2-3 months ago, and you figure a month transit time, you're looking at a build date of prior to August - which would make it a 2011 since they didn't start up production on the Z until end of August / beginning of September (from what I can deduce).

thanks for replaying,I did not fully understood how you come to that.
must say that supplier said it's only stocked for 2-3 months, so what you said make sense.

I got a call from my salesman last Saturday letting me know that my 2012 370Z will be in production in December, and will arrive in February, next i'll be getting my VIN. Nissan officially accepted my order on 11/04/2011, keep in mind i gave my dealership a deposit on 9/2/2011. It's all good though, atleast i don't have to keep guessing when she'll arrive, i have a little comfort now, and it pays to have plenty of patience like i'm known for having.:ughdance:

The Z costs the equivalent of $101,000 U.S. dollars in Israel?

Why did it take so long for the order to go through? I made my order 9/7/2011. Dealer didn't ask for a deposit and my order form says production month was 10/2011 with an ETA of 12/2011

You have got that right.
In Israel gov charges us on cars an about of 100% of tax+vat, +/- depends on the car, prior tax was about 130% !!

So unfortunately not a lot of pepole can enjoy great cars like Z .

You are right on the taxes. I live in Tel Aviv, it's sure great to visit, you should come with you buddy once, beside the great beach and whether you can travel and visit some amazing places.. Small but for sure interesting and a lot of fun.

BTW.. it's "Bar Mitzvah" :-)

If you don't want to wait, there are a few in california. I ended up just going to the dealer and they did a car search for me and next day they traded or had the car somewhere else for 2012.

From what i've noticed from being on this forum, they've released a few 2012's, but they officially start production in December.

there's actually quite a few out there, even 2012 nismos are popping up all over the place.

According to my computer, there are roughly 130 2012 370zs within 1000 miles of DFW

Yes, i believe so I ordered base+sport, auto (contemplated manual, but liked the automated options more, for me more of a drivers car), Monterey Blue, illuminated kick plates, splash guards, floor mats, and trunk mat. I was told that my color and options were not common. The changes made to the 2012 is what i was waiting for, so i can wait patiently.:happydance:

The color is the most uncommon thing. blue is (at least around here) kind of rare. And yes, base+sport is also not that common. Most people go for touring+sport

From what you all are saying icant assume that if I get the car at the end of December it will be 2012 production ? There isn't even one blue Z in Israel, they don't even offer the car in that color.

that's what we're saying. A cars year is based on when it was built, not when its transported to its selling market. Most likely, yours will be a 2011. But hey, who knows :icon17: hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

In that case even the worse is sweet like honey..
How can I tell if it's 2012 or 2011 ?

Do you think that I should 'run' the new Z engine ? Or she is good to go from day one? If so what is the best way to do so ?
