They seem to not going to give any deal for me, so I'm just going to go ahead and get the car if it's in a good shape. Thanks in advance! |

Ok guys... I just talked with the dealer again. I asked 32k OTD and they gave me 31445 OTD. I put 500 deposit down and planning to go to the dealership on Friday to do paperworks+ pick up the z. I'm putting 8k down and got 5.34% interest rate( is it low or high? considering I'm 21 and this is my first time purchase. I am going to go to other banks to see if I could get a better rate). They said my monthly payment is going to be 414 a month. Anyone know anything about Nissan extended warranty? The extended warranty was included in the payment which they said is about 20~30 dollars. They said everything except brakes and something else were all covered by warranty.

I just bought the same car, except it is Magnetic Black 09, 11K miles, fully loaded with Nav and cold weather package, persimmon/orange seats. 6-speed, Nissan certified pre-owned which gives it 84months/100K miles from its build date.
paid $29.5 and got them to deliver it from Virginia All the way to Boston. you price seems good if it includes the warranty, but if its certified pre-owned then you dont need that warranty.

I don't think it's certified. So it would be better for me to get the warranty? I think I saw somewhere on this forum that some dealers try to make money off of you by adding extended warranty. As first time buyer, I'm kind of warried about lots of things lol. How much did you pay OTD? And did you check or look at the car in person before you purchased it? I'm warried if it has/had any problems. It would suck to drive 7hours to find out this vehicle has anything wrong with it and then drive another 7 hours back to home lol.

Just for future reference, when you negotiate, you never ask, you simply tell. You hold the bargaining power.
When I bought my first car when I was 17, those bastards tried convincing me time and time again that 22,8xx was THE price for a new Civic SI, blah blah blah. Eventually I said "Look, $20,200 is simply the most I can and will pay for this car. Thanks anyways." Walked out, drove home, got a call the NEXT day saying he had been approved to sell it at that price. IF your price is realistic and reasonable - I.E, they can still make a profit off of it, they will work with you to get the sale. The problem is with a sweet car like a 370, they know they get you invested emotionally, and you'll agree to mostly the terms they lay out when it should be the other way around. |

Now since you are first time buyer and you are worried about the condition of the vehicle, I would recommend getting the warranty. Also, before signing any papers make sure you test drive the car, if you have a mechanic buddy bring them along to make sure everything looks good, and ask questions! Also a quick VIN look up of the car never hurts. If everything checks out., you should be good to go. Good luck. |

Thanks for the input guys! like turtle said, they tried to get me emotionally. The people I've talk to were like z is a sweet car, interest rate is pretty low, warranty is great and all other things you could say to make you think your getting a good deal lol. You never know but I didn't think they tried to rip me off haha.
nmjaxx9 - I think I am going to get the warranty. And of course will test drive before I sign anything. I forgot to ask for carfax today, but does carfax show all the things the vehicle went through? Also, what kind of things should I be looking at when signing the papers? Thanks again guys! |

Update:
I drove 7 hours up to Autoplace Nissan/Infiniti at Williamsville, NY with no sleep. But unfortunately, didn't get the vehicle. I thought my salesperson or dealer, Cindy was so unprofessional. She tried to rush me through everything to get me sign the papers. Even when I was looking at the car which I thought was in perfect condition as they said, they tried to bring me to her desk and rushed me to sign papers. I'm not sure if you can tell the difference on the picture but front, back bumper and side skirts paint were way off from the body color. They looked like ivoryish color. It had clean carfax and all but had paint issues. I asked them if there's any way they could repaint it for me or give me a better deal. They said no. At this time, Cindy goes to her manager and brings him to where the car and I was. They were like paint comes like that and I was like WTF??? I know a lot of Nissan/Infiniti has problems like that on PW paint but this one was serious. Later on, the manager tells me that paint is like that because Nissan adds "chip protector material" or something like that to paint lol. Now again, as I keep bringing out the paint, Cindy and the manager tells me that I'll have to decide whether or not I'm going to sign and get the car cause there are few people waiting for this vehicle lol. They kept on telling me that there are other people who called in for this vehicle and that they didn't care if I didn't buy it. I told them I'm not gonna get the car and asked for my deposit and downpayment. Cindy told me that she have to charge me 55 bucks to get my downpayment back because they already put the vehicle under my name. How professional is this? I didn't even sign anything or gave them any permission to do so. She had bad facial expression since I saw the car and was all red when I asked for my money back lol. Anyways I got my money back and walked out. About 8 hours drive back to home. Wasted my time but I guess I learned valuable lesson from my first step at buying car lol. |

Well atleast you didnt buy the car, its good you made the decision to walk out. That whole excuse of the paint comes like that is bull*****. Usually if they try to rush you and say that others are waiting....good chance no one is really waiting and most likely they were trying to force you to hurry up and sign the papers.
The 55 dollars to give back your deposit sounds like they just wanted compensation for holding the vehicle....basically they wanted to get something out of you..they weren't gonna let you leave there free of charge. Plus 55 dollars and 8 hours of driving is still better than buying a car you are not fully satisfied with. Just keep checking websites like cars.com, you should be able to find another car. |

Yea I'm happy that I didn't get this vehicle. Well they didn't even get the 55 they wanted from me. I've been on this forum more than 3years(i had another acct) and was lol when they said things about the paint. If it wasn't the paint, I would have bought it since it was hard combo to find and it's my favorit combo.

just lucked out and my local dealership had one. I originally wanted black but when I saw the blue I was pleasantly surprised and now I love monterey blue. Are you looking for manual or auto transmission?
