Hi everyone after many years. I've decided to jump on the bandwagon. I was able to find a 2010 370z 40th edition touring+sport. With 7k miles on it for 32,000+ttl.

Help me decides
Hi everyone after many years. I've decided to jump on the bandwagon. I was able to find a 2010 370z 40th edition touring+sport. With 7k miles on it for 32,000+ttl. The only concerns I have is I'm looking for a white or black color. But this car was advertised as metallic black. I thought 40th edition comes in only graphite or cherry color? Does it include red nismo caliper too? Is it a good price to paid for?
Or Should I get 2011 white 370z base+sport with 3k miles for 29,000+ttl. Since it is the color I want. Help this newbie decides Awesome forum btw!! |

40 AE is a specific color, only available on that car. Wheels are gray to match. Its also fixed on the options (touring/sport: no nav), with the red accented interior. I personally like it a lot thought the lack of Nav bothers me on all 370's (the cubby just looks wrong to me).
The price is good for a 40AE, but it sounds like you don't want that color, so why not save some coin and get the color you want. Price seems reasonable for that as well (less expensive, lacks the 3K or so Touring package the 40th has). - b |

So far Ive only saw pictures of it. It does look like it is black cherry instead if MB color they advertised. Interior is a red leather seats like you mentioned. No navigation either. How much did you paid for yours?

Here's a couple of pics that I took of one. It's an awesome color. It's almost a "chameleon" color. It can look very dark grey, but it's got a reddish cast to it.

The 40th is a nice color for those only looking for those options, and want some significance. But if you're looking for any other options, imo it's not worth it. You could always repaint a regular Z the 40th color later on.
My are get the color and the options you want.

The 40th have all the options that I wants. Except for the color... I would get it if I can get the price down a bit. Any tips on how I can get them to lower or an OTD price on this one?

Purchasing suggestion
Just thought I'd offer a few tips of advice. First off, you'll go much farther not making any comments about what the car is worth. They know what it's worth, so don't go into that conversation. Really hard to say how much they actually have in it.
Do you want the car? If you do, have an idea of what it's worth to you. Would suggest you find out about financing and such to where there aren't any surprises. Haven't found a car dealer yet that isn't open to fair negotiations. Even though this is a nice car, it's only sellable to a small percentage of the population. With this knowledge, make an offer about 3grand less than the asking price they now have. Leave the personalities out of the negotiation. And if they don't want to dicker, leave! More than likely, they have about 5 grand less than trade-in value in the car. No dealership pays trade-in value anymore... Hope this helps... PS, make the experience with whatever Z you purchase an enjoyable one. By the way, mine is a base with the Sport package in the gunmetal gray metallic. Car looks very elegant while still being visually mean. I like not having all of the "fluff" on mine. Sport package includes the pieces I'd want if I was ordering one.... We looked at several listed for 32-34K but we passed since we really like the NAV in the Z and went with a car that had a NAV. Some dealers try to maintain 1K or more on the price of a 40AE as a 'rare' model. If you do the math however, most 370Z's are about as rare (some more so) based on production numbers, color combos etc...so I was not having any of that and would not pay a premium for it. Others will. Its really a supply/demand function when it comes to what the dealer will let it go for. - b |
