I think everyone should bombard Nissan with questions/demands to retrofit all prior 2012 model year 370Z's with the new oild cooler. I just sent them a email and comment to the fact.

I will send them one, too. Not that it will do any good. If I could somehow convince them that it was going to cost them a couple of million dollars to not do it maybe, but otherwise... |

Nice info about the oil cooler. I want pictures.
And may I add let's have no more bitching about no oil cooler from owners and journalists.

I just went to the Nissan USA website and went to the "contact " section. You can send them a email from there. My email basically said that I see the 2012 now comes with a oil cooler and that must confirm the fact that the car needs a cooler. Would they do the right thing and issue a recall to retrofit all 370z's with coolers. Maybe if enough people write in, they would get the point and cave.

Done. I didn't ask for free but I strongly urged that they make a retrofit available at a reasonable price.
Chances are though the stock unit will be a POS that won't do anything anyway, so before I hold my breath or even paid to have one installed I'll see what the car mags have to say about the 2012. |

Davey, I did the same thing. I asked Nissan if they were not going to do the right thing and retrofit cars with coolers, if I decided to put a cooler on myself, would they void my warranty. That is my fear, I would have installed one myself by now but get the feeling if anything happened to the car with the new VVEL valvetrain, they would void the warranty due to a cooler and slip out of having to fix it on their dime. I see the dealer saying something like "you have a valvetrain issue but due to oil starvation from the oil cooler YOU installed, no warranty".
