Hello! I have lurking around this forum for awhile deciding on my Z. I am interested in a NISMO, but would be okay with sport package on a base model.

Z it is!
Hello!
I have lurking around this forum for awhile deciding on my Z. I am interested in a NISMO, but would be okay with sport package on a base model. I have been offered $35k for a new 2011 touring w/ sport package... I know this is a very reasonable offer, but I'm not sure if I should wait out for a NISMO... What do ya'lls think? btw from the Bay Area |

It really depends on what you are after from the car.
Plenty of guys happy with or without the nismo. I think it looks great, not completely sold on the value proposition vs a regular z though. |

I know it costs more, and I wish I had it... didn't know it was harder to find. It's apples and oranges comparing leftover 2010's to 2011's, but I know I'm only missing a rear view camera and the models were the same. I purchased my car at 61 miles.
I think he can try to wiggle him down a little more, or it's still a fair price (I bought mine less then 3 months ago). |

If you are gonna be modding the consensus seems to be to save the $ and buy sport > Nismo. Food for thought.

If you are ever going to get a body kit stick with a base/touring. If you are in love with the nismo's body kit then get the nismo. The nismo's body kit alone is worth the extra money and it isn't 10k more... In fact, all the teams that race the 370z race with the nismo's body kit for a reason. A base + sport is about 4-5k less than a nismo. The rims + body kit alone is worth more than 5k. All other additions to the nismo is minor and can be out performed with aftermarket parts.
In the end get which ever one you are more happy. |

Nismo is a good buy if you are into aggressive looks and sportier less luxury ride...
IMO a touring / sport / Nav is the perfect Z... you see the inside a ton more than you see the outside of your car.. the nav/music box/bose is a nice addition to have... If I were to get another Z it would be a touring sport with navi with the orange interior, lol... I had a base non sport that i dumped crazy money into to get the LSD and brakes... not getting sport package was def a mistake... I also always regretted not having nav, I ended up with nismo cloth seats which IMO are just as good as the leather... heated seats are nice but a non sweaty back in the summer is also nice, lol... Nismo and touring are both great choices but its really up to you and what you want from your car... Leather, heated seats, bose, navi, hatch cover are all nice additions

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the sound advice.
Last Saturday I picked up my new baby: 2011 black on black touring + sport package (no nav). I will definitely be around the forum, so looking forward to meeting the members! |
