Is this dealer BS
 

Hello all first post but been on the side lines for a while. My wife wanted a 2011 Roadster so we go to the dealer and he says he has one but its at the Ca. port. It will need to be shipped to new orleans and will take about 10-12 days. Well that was 2 weeks ago sill no car. His update today was that the car needed accessories added and it was now being shipped. WHAT accessories? Was this the last 2011 due to them taking parts off of it for other cars? This car is new and has every option but nav. I have never heard of this before, have ya'll? I am about to ask for my 1K deposit back and wait for a 2012.

You know what I am having a similar issue. I put a deposit for my dealer to get me a 2011 fully loaded coupe that was in the showroom from a dealer maybe 10 miles away from the dealer I put the deposit. So its been almost a week and I am being told that they are waiting for the Bose amplifier on the car to be ordered and replaced because they apparently took it off that car and put in on some other car. This is some fishy stuff going on here with your car and my car. Why are parts being taken out these cars???!! I am debating to not even take it, also the salesman told me he was not supposed to tell me because its only for the dealers to know. WTF, imagine we weren't told.

I don't think they can do take parts off one car and put it on another. I had problems with my window motors and had to have both replaced (a week after I got my car) long story short they said they would pull the motors off another Z but it is illegal. Could also be a lie. Did get a convertible Z for a week to play with while my motors where ordered.

Ya... Get your money back.

In both cases have the dealer that you are dealing with give you the vin. # of the new car that you are waiting on and give that dealer a call. Odds are that they will give you a better price than what you are currently getting. :tup:

I dont know about the OP but should I even still consider this car?

Thanks for the info. I know about the dealer prep but this port prep. seemed fishy. The dealer did gave me a vin. ending with 60842, I hope this is a later ser. no. 2011 Roadster with options seem to be in short supply here in the TX. LA. and MS. area so its hard to let this car go. It also seemed to be a fare deal, $1500 below invoice when using the VPP during the months of Aug and Sep.
