Advice on this offer!!
2011 Gun metallic 370z Touring, Sport, Nav for 37,700k before trade tax. After trade 6,500k down to 31,2xxk plus tax and fees 34,000k flat OTD. Is this good or should I work it down a little more. Giving me tints and 2yr oil change tire rotation. I asked for a remote start but they wouldn't do it or kick plates. They are bringing the car Monday and I left deposit. I didn't sign any papers yet. Advice please!

That is real good man...touring sport and nav for 34 OTD? Wow jump on that.
|
^^and its a 2011...is it new or used?
|
2011 Brand new delivery miles. Even with trading a car in, is that good or what? I was debating to give an extra push to 33,000k but don't know if possible.
|
If you can go for it, I picked mine up it was a new 2011 base for 33, 36K OTD, your talking 2k less OTD with nav sports and touring, thats a hell of a deal imo, if you can push for that last 1k off it doesnt hurt but either way the deal sounds legit.

One, that's a good price. Two, this is sorely my observation that most
dealerships I was looking before with touring + sport had illuminated kick plates (yes it is optional still for those wanna argue). Three, are you set you want that color/trim? Four, if you try elsewhere, you can get a 2010 or better yet an 09 still for a lower/better price IF budget was a concern. Do you like the gun metal or more of because of the price? Any other dealership? Have you seen/tried the Nismo? Btw, the sport wheels cannot be rotated. I'd either ask a car cover or wheel locks. Other than that, at the end of the day, all I'm saying, are you happy AND satisfied with it? |
Great price

If you're happy with the numbers they offered for your trade that's a good price for touring/sport/Nav ... looks like around 1k below invoice.

Edmunds shows 38,737 invoice (including destination) for manual touring/sport/nav with no other options. Other options would raise it some ... fully optioned out it shows 39,856 -- that's for homelink, kickplates, splash guards and all the mats ... Also Edmunds shows a regional adjustment to price of 183 for my zipcode ... NY it might be higher ... |

Yup. That's about right. Sounds like a good deal.

Thanks. Hope there are no tricks or gimmicks when I go into the finance office to officially sign papers. Also I hope they aren't planning to catch me with a high interest rate because I know Nissan is offering 2.89% right now on the Z. I showed another dealer my bill for the car that hasn't been signed for yet and they said the price I'm getting is not possible. They also said they might slap you with additional and extra charges. Maybe this other dealer is telling the truth or maybe they are just hating on my deal.

I never sign until all three are to my satisfaction |
Yeah that's a great deal! A fully loaded Z is about 40K. Good luck!

Spoke to the salesman who is locating the car for me said that the car he found had a mechanical part replaced on it. He didn't say what it was but the car is new. He might tell me today what the part is, but I am not sure if I should take this car if they give it for less or just find another car.

I think you should get them to go lower. Just look at the facts it is a 2011 and 2012 is around the bend. As soon as you drive it off the lot it will be almost a year old so they will want you to pay full price but in reality they should be thanking you for taking it off of their hands. Also if you think of your trade as this you are only getting around 3k because they throw in the taxes and fees. I understand the taxes because the government gets theirs but take a hard look at the fees. If they throw in their lot fee, etc have them take it off. They make money if they sale it within 3 months upon arriving at their lot and still pass on the cost to you. Personally I would look for a 2010 leftover or even a good used one and you can still get new car financing through most banks for a car that is up to 2 years old then use the extra money for mods. Sell you trade in out right and make more money as well. I was able to find a 2009 in March of 2010, Sport touring with Navi with only 10k and was able to get it from a private seller for 31k. It did require me to fly to pick it up but the 8 hour drive home made it well worth it.

added: reread OP and figured out I confused his down payment with his trade-in. |
Start over.
Invoice on that car is around 40K. They are offering 37,700 after your trade. How much did they offer for your trade? |

this was my understanding of the deal, which i think is a good deal |

Seems like a high TTL to bring the car up to 34,000OTD, but NY tax rates are likely higher than here in TX. |

Still seems like a good deal. Depending on the NY tax rate maybe they added a couple hundred extra to the documentation fee or whatever, but not enough to complain.
I wish you luck at the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully you'll be coming home with a new ride :) |
^^thanks. I noticed you have a Platinum Graphite Z. How do you like that color? This will be my first non black car. I am getting Gun Metallic. The reason I chose this color because I got sick of the maintenance on black. You are able to see evey little blemish on black an it's annoying. I feel like with this color it won't get dirty as much and not really any swirls.

All said, I'm pleased with the color and its maintenance free nature |
Ok good I am making the right color choice.
P.S. On a side note. This week that the dealer made me wait, I stepped into an Infiniti dealer and looked at the G37xs coupe. I love the Z but the only thing that the G has that interest me is AWD for NY and good lease programs. I don't care for 2 extra seats and a somewhat better interior. Any one ever had to debate the two? |

So I went to the dealership and got scammed. Agreed price was 34,000. They kept throwing me stupid interest rates like 5%. I told then I have a 2.64 at bank of America and they kept saying you must finance this through us. These crooks gave me a low payment for 60 months then I came back to officially sign the papers and they secretly changed the term to 72 months and didn't notice till half way into signing. Saw the price and they were having me paying 49,000 for a Nissan Z. You got to be kidding me. They threatened to not give back title to trade in as I signed but fought with them got my car back but held my 500 deposit for ransom. I will now have to get that back. Cannot believe this. They even put my plates on the Z. Im so disappointed and I have bought Nissan products before.
|
Damn. Sorry it went down like that.
Anytime they say you have to finance through them, that's a clear red flag that something might be fishy! I'm guessing the "intent to purchase" document you signed does not mention interest rate but says something like you promise to provide them with the purchase price of the car. I believe, if you go to your bank and secure financing they have to accept that or give you your deposit back. |

Anyways this was my supposed car....its so pretty but the stealership didn't allow me to have her. I am so pissed I don't think I can go through this whole process of getting a price, locating a car, negotiating, etc.
|
What dealership was this?
|
I'm very sorry to hear that. I went through almost the same situation but in the end I was able to find the right car at the right price. I hope everything works out for you and you can be as happy as I was when I bought the Z.
