Your dealer sounds like a real pain. I agree with others - look elsewhere. I'm in sales myself and I do everything I can to make it easy for my clients to do business with me - which is exactly what the dealers did for me on my last two purchases. Too many choices out there to have to deal with jerks. Where I ordered mine from tried to get a high deposit on me and once I explained to them that wasn't going to happen, all the BS stopped. If it hadn't, I would have moved on.

Have a buddy that just bought a Durango and when he went for a test drive dealer told him to take it home for a couple of nights and see if he liked it. Two days later, he bought it. Maybe it's different here, but dealers do stuff like that all the time.

Sounds like the $37,700 was not the "real" price of the car. They were expecting built in extra cash from the financing deal.

Hope you get your deposit back.

Thats how dealers should be ran. Over here everyone is trying to make a quick buck from anything possible. They think people are stupid and will just roll over. You just have to have your eyes open. Some customer in the dealer randomly came up to me and told MW how he was going to report this place when he leaves. Not just me.

So I went again and I ended up getting 400$ out of 500$. The manager try tp reason with me and wrote me a deal 1.99% and signed it and said I'll keep 100$ to save you the car. I just was like ok before I go any further and he gives me no money. I'll bite the 100$.
By the way how much should I be paying a month for a Z like this? 599$ for 60 months is what I was quoted with the 6500$ trade in. Is that high? How much is it no money down for a Z like this?

There are plenty of loan calculators around. Don't think in terms of money per month when negotiating.

Like I mentioned earlier. You have three negotiations:

1. Price
2. Trade-in
3. Interest rate/Terms

If you got got them to go down to 1.99%, then it looks like a good deal on price and interest rates. The calculator I looked at showed $595.80 for 1.99%@60 months for a 34K loan.

Remember the more money down the more you save. With the loan terms above, you are paying about 2k in interest over the course of the loan. If instead the loan was for 24k, you'd only be paying around $1200 in interest

so $599 x 60 = 35940 + 6500 = 42440
that's the price youre paying after interest.

Yes that's it exactly 42k,xxx. I was not supposed to be anywhere near 49k.
A couple questions I had. This car had a Bose amplifier removed and replaced(why I don't know), I noticed when I pressed the button on the door to unlock it did not make a beep sound like almost every Nissan/Infiniti does now(I don't know if Z is supposed to), also the passenger door auto window didn't work, paint has weird imperfections in it like water marks that are imbedded into the paint(they would take care of by wet sanding whole car by body shop), has 75 miles on clock. Car was delivered to Koeppel Nissan in queens, brought then to a Nissan dealer about 40 miles away then ended up at this dealer about 15 miles from the previous dealer. Something weird about this car. Did a lot of traveling for no reason and has weird problems. The paint thing is very weird as it's almost like a discoloration in the Gun metallic of a shade of different darker grey.

Walk away from this car.. Sounds like too many small issues rather coincidences for a new car.

LakeShow 09-27-2011 05:10 PM

I think I may walk away from it but its the only Gun metallic in the country fully loaded auto (apparently). Does anyone know or recommend any dealers in the NY/ Long Island area that can give me a legitimate deal? Dealers over here don't even want to budge under invoice which is 40k because it's a Nissan Z(ridiculous). Never had such a hard process in buying finding a car.

If you are looking for a fully loaded gun metal, auto and don't mind traveling, take a look at this--->2011 Nissan 370Z Touring, $40,830 - Cars.com
and if price is an issue, then maybe going with a base wouldn't be a bad idea? Found this base, auto, gun metal as well.--->2011 Nissan 370Z, $30,998 - Cars.com

Ok so the manager of the dealer whom I had a problem with and the deposit problem came to me and gave me one last final offer which is entirely up to me if I want to take it. He gave me paper righting down the deal and signed it himself. He said he will give me a 1.9% for 60 months. Now remember I had a problem with this dealer but I know no other dealer will even try to give me something like that if I tried to take my business elsewhere. At this point with this offer an the minor issues with the car I don't know what to do. Also I don't think they would try the same nonsense again because I just had an argument with them.

Sounds pretty fair.

As far as the paint issues, do you have any detailer friends that could take a look at it and see what they think? I know you mentioned them wet sanding the entire car - that's pretty dramatic - like 1-step away from a repaint on the scale of 'major' things you can do to paint. It's not for the faint of heart. But, it being a new car, I'd make sure the issues can be corrected and an independent detailer can give you a much better idea than the dealer can.

The 37,700 sale price + 1.9%@60 months is a good deal. You'll have to decide whether the issues you've listed warrant walking away (or whether you actually want to give your money to this dealership given how they've treated you).

Yes I definitely dont like the idea of wet sanding the whole car. A bit unecessary but I will take it to my bodyshop first before they touch it if I get this car.

Yes the deal is good and I don't think other dealers are even trying to attempt such a deal. They have treated me like crap but I cant just go to another dealer to expect this offer as much as I want to. The Z is not like an Altima where the availability is easy to find and get great deals everywhere. As much as I want to not deal with them, it's hard to resist this deal because no one on Long Island can do better than invoice or maybe 1k under. They said they will include tints and 3yrs oil changes, maintenance.
This week I wil not step into a car dealer as I need a break from this car dealer nonsense. I will go in next week straight into the finance office before signing one document and have the manager come in as well and have them right up the paper work exactly how the manger wrote it to me me 34,000 amount financed with trade. 599 month 60 months 1.99% tints, 3yrs maintenance. Nothing shall be a dollar more because I'm sick of the nonsense. I will honestly just walk out. If paperwork is done correctly I will have a Z. The paint issue they said they will fix but I don't trust them..I'll probably just take it to my guy.
