^^thanks. I noticed you have a Platinum Graphite Z. How do you like that color? This will be my first non black car. I am getting Gun Metallic. The reason I chose this color because I got sick of the maintenance on black. You are able to see evey little blemish on black an it's annoying. I feel like with this color it won't get dirty as much and not really any swirls.

I did a deep detail right after I bought it. clay bar, PC with a light compound, and polish. Since then I've waxed it about once or month or so and so far no swirls, nothing. After a year and 3/4th the paint is holding up pretty good -- only a couple of pinhead sized chips near the front of the hood.

All said, I'm pleased with the color and its maintenance free nature

Ok good I am making the right color choice.

P.S. On a side note. This week that the dealer made me wait, I stepped into an Infiniti dealer and looked at the G37xs coupe. I love the Z but the only thing that the G has that interest me is AWD for NY and good lease programs. I don't care for 2 extra seats and a somewhat better interior. Any one ever had to debate the two?

Yeah I was thinking of the benefit of all wheel drive as well, (especially in the New England region) and the two extra seats wouldn't have hurt either, but I decided that the Z just had that IT factor, and they were offering me a better interest rate and financing options.

So I went to the dealership and got scammed. Agreed price was 34,000. They kept throwing me stupid interest rates like 5%. I told then I have a 2.64 at bank of America and they kept saying you must finance this through us. These crooks gave me a low payment for 60 months then I came back to officially sign the papers and they secretly changed the term to 72 months and didn't notice till half way into signing. Saw the price and they were having me paying 49,000 for a Nissan Z. You got to be kidding me. They threatened to not give back title to trade in as I signed but fought with them got my car back but held my 500 deposit for ransom. I will now have to get that back. Cannot believe this. They even put my plates on the Z. Im so disappointed and I have bought Nissan products before.

Damn. Sorry it went down like that.

Anytime they say you have to finance through them, that's a clear red flag that something might be fishy!

I'm guessing the "intent to purchase" document you signed does not mention interest rate but says something like you promise to provide them with the purchase price of the car. I believe, if you go to your bank and secure financing they have to accept that or give you your deposit back.

I cannot believe what I went through for a car today. They honestly make me feel like I don't even want a Z anymore. I will find out tomorrow about my deposit but if worst case scenario I will just call my credit card company. I forgot how these stealerships work, and was just reminded. But man that Z looked so good sitting on that lot. Spent 5 hours in the dealer thought I was leaving in a Z to find out all this bulls**t

LakeShow 09-25-2011 11:36 PM

Anyways this was my supposed car....its so pretty but the stealership didn't allow me to have her. I am so pissed I don't think I can go through this whole process of getting a price, locating a car, negotiating, etc.

What dealership was this?

FairladyZ10PG 09-26-2011 12:16 AM

I'm very sorry to hear that. I went through almost the same situation but in the end I was able to find the right car at the right price. I hope everything works out for you and you can be as happy as I was when I bought the Z.

depending on how much you were financing, the 49,000 may sound right if that included the 6,500 trade-in (as a down payment) and you financed the rest of the 34,000 at 5% interest for 72 months.

The total financed amount was to be 34K. With that much being financed the difference in cost between something like 3% @60 months and 5% @72 months is quite significant. He was expecting the former and not the latter.

That's bizarre. Last two cars I bought I drove off the lot with no financing in place-just a purchase agreement. Both times were after 5 PM and we just agreed to work out the financing later. Ended up paying cash for one and financed the other through my local bank the next day. The last one was funny because about 3 days after I bought it, the dealership called and wanted to know how I was going to pay for it - my local bank had done all the paperwork but submitted it to the wrong dealership. Took about a week to get it all straight.

Basically the point is they would not let me have it any other way. It's 5% or no deal. Also they changed the term as I went back to the finance office 60-72Months

Thats a really cool dealer. Let you take the car without paying for it for a few days.
