good luck trying to get 39 OTD with NY taxes and fees. I'm not sure what taxes are in DC, but if you want a 39,000 OTD price, you're looking at a sale price of around $35,000. that's over 8,000 off the sticker price you mentioned, which i think will be extremely hard to pull off.

Economy is in the tank, and you are willing to buy a 2 seater sports car made for a niche market for a very fair price. Dealer will likely make grand or two off the deal but it's one car less on their lot which is good for them.

You are right. That car has been sitting in the showroom for about a month or so with no interested buyers. Not many people in the market for a 40k 2seater RWD in NY right now in this economy. They should budge. Hopefully I'm
able to take delivery next week.

Good luck, i think you should be fine with 39K offer. Once they know you are serious, they will deal..

Ok guys here's the deal, got offered 37,200k minus the 6500k trade in put me at 31k before tax and fees. So OTD will be 34,000k. Is that good? I only put 500$ deposit so they bring the car from somewhere else but I didn't sign any papers yet. Should I shop it around? I have until Monday.
