Smile Bought my Z - Many Offers Came My Way

I just put a down payment on my Platinum Graphite Base-Sport Pkg with floor mats, trunk mat, and splash guards. I got it for 31K, 32,900 out the door (mass tax 5%). I put the down payment on it Friday (after receiving a ton of other quotes, MSRP - 33,400 - 32,600 - 31,600, and a few that fell between all before TTL). The kicker was a dealer called me Saturday morning and said he would sign me for $30,300! I missed out on a great deal - someone scoop it up, Marlboro Nissan in MA. But I will be getting my Z from the factory in 30 days, with the plastic still on it and less than 15 miles on it. In the process I was offered a Sport Touring, all options w/o navi for $34,700. I turned them down because the dealership said they would refuse to order the car I wanted....the guy was a jerk. Overall, I am pumped and I feel like I got a good deal because of the information presented in this forum. I am going to go through PenFed (3.99% APR) and put 13K down. I should be in the $365/month payment range over 60 Months.

That's an interesting comment from the dealer since mine says new orders "from the factory (Japan)" are now 8 months out. My order from the factory started on 1/17/09 and is almost here, I have a vin#.

I doubt that car is coming from the factory if he is promising 30 days. It must be sitting on a lot somewhere in the US to get it that quick.

Congrats. Welcome to the mass Z club.

It's probably sitting in a dockyard somewhere. Factory orders for 2009 coupes have been stopped.

My dealer said he found one in transit from the factory. It hasn't been to a dealership and he had it routed to the dealership I am getting it from. He called me yesterday with a VIN. The only thing it doesn't have that I negotiated was the kick plates. I'm not too concerned with those since I am lucky to get a car in 1 month versus 3-8. I am going to try to get them to throw in the cargo cover that comes standard on the Touring Model. Does anyone know anything about the cargo cover? It will be ideal to cover up the sub enclosure I plan to install.

The cargo cover can't be easily installed on the base as it requires the replacement of the 2 trim panels. There was a thread on here about that. It can still be done but it starts getting expensive.

Oh that's a bummer. I'll wait to hear of an alternative or if parts become cheaper, I will go that route. Thanks for the information.
