Default Is this a good enough deal?! Thanks

Hi my name is Steve and currently deployed. I have a 2010 Maxima but obviously wanting a 370z. The Max is very nice however im wanting a sports car. Im 25 and single. Its for me. I would buy it from Alaska, and eventually have it shipped to Germany (where im going to get stationed to after alaska in May of 2012) Thankfully i read the what to do before buying tips on this forum!

Model: 2012 base with sports package

Color : either white or gun metal, not sure yet. Maybe new color from 2012?

Transmission: 7AT

Price: $35,291 (apparently 700 above invoice) Plus Doc & DMV = $35,720
there are no taxes considering its in Alaska (which is great)

APR: will not no until i pick it up in beginning of 2012 (around March time frame)

will put around 7-10k down.

Am i still getting shafted here? or is it a decent deal?
i made them lower 2 grand already which was total bs.

I say save our money. By the time you live in Germany, you should be able to get a good-conditioned Porsche 911 for a very good price while you're stationed there. Then re-sell the car and lose only like $2000 after 2 or 3 years. That's what my friends' did.

I'd say that's a good call. No sense in shipping a Z over from Alaska when theres probably thousands of 911's you could buy for a similar price in Germany. The only thing is that it won't be as exclusive as a Z. It one of those "when in Rome" situations......Porsche.........Germany. right?

Thanks for the replies! keep in mind, I wouldnt pay for the shipping of my car. Also i understand how the Porche would be cheaper in Germany... but that much cheaper!? Would it be comparable to a Z over here? im not looking to spend a whopping amount. But again Thanks alot for your replies and im gonna continue to contemplate this decision.

Thanks!

well I guess if you're not going to be paying for shipping, then that's a different story. Go for it if you're really set on that car.

Why not pick up a new 2011 for $1k+ below invoice at the end of the year and have it shipped instead?

That is a good idea, however where im stationed at (in fairbanks) there is slim pickings and surely not a 2011 370Z. Also i ran in to a little hiccup... Insuarance price is too high right now, I gotta get it down before i actually order the Z. I am now contemplating the 135i also if i cant get the rates down. I checked the quotes for the BMW and they were cheaper but should still be lower.

Thanks!

Well i got the insurance rates down... down to a respectable level (for me) and i should probably get down farther when i actually would receive the car (around March) I look to order it in September-October time frame. Trust me if i was home, it would already be ordered. Im excited and my mind is constantly on the 370Z (along with females ofcourse) Plus just wondering, Does anyone know if the Z is rare in Germany? Ive always been a sports car fan, however this is the first time im actually believe i can get one, Which i can! Thanks!

ya its rare in Germany for sure. I was there not too long ago and I didn't see a single one, not even a 350. Tonnes of porsches, bmw's, and mercs......naturally I suppose. They have a lot of pride for their own cars.

Im just gonna go with the 2012base sports and 7AT with floor mats in pearl white.
The final price they went down to is 34,768 plus doc/dmv which is 429. The total price comes to 35,197. That was after alot of back and forth on prices. They are claiming 34768 is only 200 over invoice. How did i do? I plan on making my initial ordering deposit in a week or so. So it will be ready for when i return from deployment around march time frame. I was also looking at a bmw 135i, (for around the same price, 135i with m package9 duel clutch, leather seats) but i chose the 370 because of reliabilty compared to BMWs, maintenance prices, styling, rarity (in Germany), and fun factor. I know the 370 isnt really practical, but i dont really need practical. Im 25, single and no kids (i dont think lol)
