I need a little advice. Trading in '09 for a '11.
Hey guys. I need a little help with anyone who has experience and is willing to share their opinions. I'm looking to purchase a New 2011 370Z 7AT. I already have a 2009 370Z 6MT used with 33k miles and I have it financed through a credit union located near my job with a APR of 6.5%. I wanted to know how to quarterback getting the new 370Z and how I could go about refinancing or financing the remaining amount with the Pentagon Federal Credit Union (for a lower APR) after I trade in my current 370Z. I know I could ask a service rep but I would like to hear your opinions on what you guys think is the best way to go.
Thanks guys. |
first visit your dealer to findout wat the otd price will be.
tell your new credit union how much you owe on the 09 to buy out, how much the new 11 will be minus the 09' trade-in and any tax/doc fees and have them write you a check with the lower apr you speak of. hand the finance officer at the dealer your check and you're on your way with a new car, new loan with new apr. they will issue 2 checks. one to buy out one for your dealer. |
Or you can sell your current car privately (with BB values through the ceiling right now), have the buyer pay you, you pay your creditor off and sink the difference into the new car.

A good place to start with your current car is your local CARMAX dealer. They will appraise it on the spot and their prices are not bad at all. At least it will give you an idea of what they would give you for the car so you can compare that to what the dealer is offering for the trade.
