Hate to say "i told you so" but for one, as per another thread where the OP responded, they never took any deposit from him to begin with and add to that....i ordered my Z from the same dealer and just got a call from them today saying that it got delivered today. Yes i will admit alot of dealers will do the whole take your deposit and hold it hostage thing, but Fontana Nissan is not one of them as i never had to put down a deposit on mine either when i ordered it back at the beginning of May.

Thanks for the kind words Z-ealot. We have placed numerous Z orders for forum members without deposit and that is not the reason why we didn't order Nixlimited's Z. Nixlimited's order has been placed but got canceled a couple of weeks later due to nav shortage issue. With that being said, all orders with Nav will get delayed for a short period of time. We spoke to our Nissan rep recently and they are trying to resolve this issue ASAP.

Speaking of which ... I still need a Z Danny! Get on it :tiphat:

I heard last week that it's coming in December. In the mean time I have been looking pretty seriously at used 996TTs. If there is any more delay, I may switch camps.

Wow, I can't believe the NAV unit can be such an important factor to some, when others like me think it's just an over priced glorified toy map. Please understand, I mean no disrespect to you or anyone else who can't live without it or just want it because of what ever reason. But even if I could afford $2000 for such a thing, which I can't or won't, I would not let it sway me versus the rest of the car's awesomeness, even if I were getting something more expensive like a Cayman S or a Vette. I think this Z is kick *** as a base, let alone with the Sport Package.

Priorities vary I guess, and that's totally cool. I was not about to pay Nissan's ridiculous $4500 asking price for 2 heated leather seats and a "merely adequate" Bose radio. I never use my heated seats in my Murano, and in that when I got leather it was 5 people worth of seats. I'm also an audiophile of sorts, and Bose means nothing to anyone in the audiophile world (they basically suck to most). No no, I'll stick with cloth, and for $500 - $600 I'll have a 6" back up camera and a stereo that at least equals that Bose. If I get new speakers later, it will smoke that Bose.

Now, I WOULD pay extra for the COOLED seats the roadster has.

Has anyone converted the cooled seats over into a coupe yet???????? ;)

Yeah, for me NAV is a deal breaker. I use it all the time in my other cars due to an innate poor sense of direction. Also, I think aesthetically the NAV unit is much nicer. I really dislike the pocket area on the non-NAV cars. I would just go aftermarket, but then I would have a NAV that I would have to stare down at the shift knob to see. It is an expensive "luxury," but oh well, may as well get what you want if you are spending a bunch of coin. With all that said, Nissan / Infiniti does make one of the nicest NAV systems I have seen as an OEM.

I love my NAV and heated red leather seats. However, when I bought my Murano I opted out of paying the extra $ for leather seats and NAV as it just didn't seem worth it.

Update from the dealership today: ETA week of December 9th!

December 9th is just around the corner. Hope to see your z around the SoCal area.

Woot! :happydance:

I'm with you on the nav too. It was tough finding one, but I was finally able to snag one as soon as it came state-side and got on a train. Definitely worth it! I love my nav system. I just want to buy that bypass kit that is on site here. I hate the safety features...:icon14:

Absolutely! I was very involved with the M3 and STi communities previously. I can't wait to get back into meets, DEs, rallys, etc.

Yeah, hard to believe I waited almost a year to get the NAV system, but oh well, looks like that's all about done! Let me know if you have a link to the bypass equipment. I hate "safety" features too.

Looks like here is the place to get that: Nissan 370z - Car Kit Company
This appears to be another option: Prestigious Society Navigation and Video Enhancement Module

Update: my car has arrived!!! 5 miles on the ODO. I will be going up to sign paperwork on Saturday, but then I have to wait until after I get back from Christmas to pick it up since I am having the brakes redone right at Fontana's race shop. Big thanks to Danny@Fontana for all his help throughout the process.
